Raining Fire - 100k - Adult Sci-Fantasy WIP

When a disgraced military cadet learns that the authoritarian government she's devoted her life to is conducting unethical experiments on vulnerable members of the city, she flees into the sewers, falling into the very grass-roots extremist organization she was trained to uproot.

Images of a dingy city, ports, characters in gaslamp-style dress, with mecha guns and uniforms.

Quotes: Those who slept in the gutters, the workless, the dust-dazed, they we just weak. The Conglomerate would never allow someone to fail when they deserved success.

So this was what happened behind closed doors. Everything she'd worked for, struck from her record. Her entire career, ripped from her.

My Bone Collector has hit querying shelves! 🌿nature (& bone) based magic system ⛰️mountains & snarky dragons ✨bargains w/ the dead & living 🌞baba yaga & zombie women 🌚inspired by slavic folklore 🪷finding herself in the woods (w/ a pretty girl & the comedic relief) 🍄‍🟫mommy issues #questpit #Q #F #YA

Pitch & Vibes in black lettering
below the title is a series of inserts with three book covers: “I’m Afraid You’ve Got Dragons,” “Daughter of the Bone Forest,” and “The Last Unicorn.” the pictures in between are of a girl looking off to the side, a girl with a deer skull looking at the camera, a girl drinking wine looking at the viewer, and a stain glass window depicting a knight fighting a dragon.
below that is an organic brown/gray bubble with text that reads “After a deadly sickness known as Chuma begins to infect her siblings, Olena Thunderchild—secret bone magic user who can make deals with the dead—plunges into the mythical forest to find the cure.”

A Simple Snippet
“‘They haunt you. You let them haunt your dreams,’ Olena states the obvious. She’s the one who should be haunted in dreams and life. She is the one that speaks to spirits and has one stored in her pocket at this very moment, yet she never sees them in her dreams. When she’s done with a spirit, they simply fade from all existence.
‘They’re a piece of me now. I can’t erase how I used them.’”
there is character art on the bottom and a background of dragons flying.

Corrupted Moon Magic

The Pitch
18-year-old Alyss Veylas wishes to attend Nocturne Collegiate for one reason—revenge. Five long years after her sister was murdered by the school’s guardian, she finally gets that chance. Armed with a Moon Fragment granting memory magic, and the aid of her ex and his new girlfriend, Alyss must confront the woman who took away the person she loved most.

Chapter One
The rain made it easier to rob his grave.
My shovel carved through the sodden earth, the water contorting into murky veins around its edge. Desperation drove each labored thrust, the burning ache in my muscles but an afterthought to the prize that lied in wait. Even the Valera Forest held its breath; the fog thick enough to smother the night’s whispers. All was silent save for the spilling of soil under the deluge that drenched us.
Us.
As I lifted my gaze to the boy standing across from me, I found that word had lost all semblance of warmth.

The images show a painting of a dove, a painting of an angel blowing wind from their mouth, a feather with blood splattered on it, a portrait of Aila (an oerent with pink skin, small pink horns, braided magenta hair, and pearlescent wings), and several hands connected by threads.
There is a quote "If you need me to, I can give you every ounce of hope within my soul."

The images are a sword leaning against a pine tree, a mortar and pestle, an arrow piercing a pomegranate shaped like a heart, a portrait of Vasil (a selvestra with piebald skin that has a bark like texture, very long ears, brown hair styled in an afro, and piercing green eyes), and moss on a branch.
There is a quote "I have failed The Amstelvoort and the council, but I will not fail you."

How to write: Stop not writing. Keep your butt in the chair. Write really bad small sections of the whole—passages, moments, episodes, memories—til you have an incredibly shitty 1st draft. Then take out the boring parts, the lies and pretensions. Then write a better 2nd draft.
