Nice! Are you also open for feature requests? I recently wanted to tag files so I could for example filter coverage reports by team/author. 👀 But regular Istanbul has no feature like this.

Similarly, visits to my blog are down 47% for the year after already being down 25% last year. Practical React Query was read 13 times per hour (111k per year) in 2024. This year, it’s down to 3.7 times per hour, a minus of 71%. Meanwhile, the lib grew +144% in downloads in the last 6 months

But that will change in the next few months. We've spent the past few months investing heavily in bug fixes and performance improvements. We're preparing v0.5, which will likely be the last release before v1 (finally).

Awesome release. Quick question regarding "--debug timings": is this covering only build-in rules or also custom rules written in JS? Thanks!

Could you tell me what kind of data I can get from this out of the box? I tried it with the given configs, but it seems like I more or less "just" see the duration of the individual test files? Can I deep dive somehow why/where tests took long? Or do I have to write custom instrumentation for this?

So we're back to security through obscurity? Sorry, but this is wrong. Our OSS apps and libs will be more secure thanks to the new models, not less. They are being released to researchers responsibly. Let's help maintainers avoid burnout. Let's fund them. Let's welcome more eyes checking our code.
Bailey Pumfleet @pumfleet (1h ago) post in X:

Open source is dead.

That’s not a statement we ever thought we’d make.

@calcom was built on open source. It shaped our product, our community, and our growth. But the world has changed faster than our principles could keep up.

AI has fundamentally altered the security landscape. What once required time, expertise, and intent can now be automated at scale. Code is no longer just read. It is scanned, mapped, and exploited. Near zero cost.

In that world, transparency becomes exposure. Especially at scale.

After a lot of deliberation, we’ve made the decision to close the core @calcom codebase.

As I don't test the _actual_ hover functionality with the VRTs, but only the visuals I'm fine with this approach. If you worry about misusage you could make this only available within your VRTs/documentation. It doesn't _have_ to be part of the final build.

We use this strategy to "hover over more than one element": bsky.app/profile/pipo... Thanks for the article. I know your pain! I'll soon try to use Vitest Browser Mode Visual Regression Testing with the Storybook Vitest addon. We used the Storybook Test Runner so far.

There is (was?) one downside: on bigger components the ByRole query is very slow. I see it a bit more pragmatic. Ideally there is a dedicated a11y check (eg. with axe) than the queries don't matter that much anymore and I'd pick whatever the dev is more familiar with, what is faster, etc.

We’re pretty close to having an initial Rust port of React Compiler. My approach was to iterate on the plan document (write it manually, have the agent expand, edit, repeat). Then try to run it, see what goes wrong, revert back to the plan, tweak the plan, repeat.

When I want to call `import { format } from 'oxfmt';` I need to pass an options object as a 3rd param. There doesn't seem to be an API to load the correct config. Should I use cosmiconfig? Or some custom logic? Thanks ❤️
