Just wrapped up an inspiring week at SilviLaser 2025. It was a real pleasure to attend, and an honor to deliver the keynote. Conferences like Silvilaser remind me why I love working in forestry and remote sensing - not just for the science, but also for the people.

🌲 Excited to share our latest work on Enhanced Forest Inventories (EFI) in Canada! 🌲 We take a close look at how EFI is being implemented across Canada's provinces & territories. We also summarize the extent of ALS acquired across Canada, with maps and tables (and an animation ⬆️).

If you're using the `lidR` package and looking to expand your point cloud analysis capabilities, the **lidRmetrics** package might be worth exploring. It offers a variety of additional metrics designed to provide a more detailed characterization of forest structure ptompalski.github.io/lidRmetrics/
R code example with metrics_set3() function used to calculate pixel metrics.

the {anytime} R package is my new favorite when it comes to converting text to dates. Super easy to use and works even if dates have some weird formatting! eddelbuettel.github.io/anytime/ #R #Rstats

In my work, I often develop many models and need to assess their accuracy. To make my life easier, I built scatter, a small R package for—well, scatterplots! The plots: - Include R², bias, RMSE - Integrate with tidyverse pipe - Use facets for grouped data github.com/ptompalski/s... #Rstats
