This image is a meme using characters from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine to express a strong opinion on labor strikes within the video game industry.
The first character asks if game developers should strike.
The second character responds that all exploited workers should strike.
The first asks if this is true even if it disrupts the industry.
The second emphasizes that it should happen especially if it causes disruption.

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

Love this from Guillermo del Toro

“Be kind, be involved, believe in your art,” he said. “At a time when people tell you art is not important, that is always the prelude to fascism. When they tell you it doesn’t matter, when they tell you a fucking app can do art you say, if it’s that important, why the fuck do they want it so bad? The answer is because they think they can debase everything that makes us a little better, a little more human. And that, in my book, and in my life, includes monsters.”

A redraw of the quoted meme. Cheats, a bot with an orange helmet and a fluffy coat, holds his hand open toward the camera, palm upturned. Poorly done text overlays the image saying: let's survive 2026 together.

I decided to name this variation of Codename to "Codename: ORCH" on a whim. The abbreviation "orch" is apparently used in official settings/media. There's nothing massive to describe, especially since this is rather unpolished. Just a free fall with those big hands scattered all over.

March - July - October - December Happy new year. #artrecap

Vash the Stampede (Trigun) wearing a worried expression in a slouched posture. Dante Sparda (Devil May Cry 1) showing a serious look with his grip on his sword. Alucard (HELLSING) posing while using his guns to reference his flipped Christian holy cross symbol, his face obscured by the shadows but sinister all the same.

[text over each respectively]
"[Vash] avoids all means to kill"
"[Dante] would kill if provoked"
"[Alucard] unhesitatingly kills, when ordered"

A man whose face is obscured by shadows, from which derive out of his mind three others who are tied back to him.

Saint Josh, smirking while holding a bottle of holy water and a Christian holy cross.
Jashier, whose left side is shown while the other is hidden by his wing.
Jacion (Josh), grinning confidently with his wrench in his right hand and his left behind his head. His laser gun is placed beside him.

🔴 vent art
Mel drowning within the dark waters as the colors of light brush its depths, her eyes obscured.

[Commission for Kal]

Metal Ratnic showing his right hand in the front.
On each of his claws is a reflection of Doc Ratnic, Plague Ratnic, and a tail belonging to someone whose face is unrevealed.
