Sokolovskii may be a little confused in the offensive zone sometimes but he has some puck handling skills and the spirit. I really do like him. His skating is really nice for his size.

Lots of people complaining about the Flyers pick hate it because he’s not a small fun defenseman who puts up points. Sokolovskii has shown upside skill and was slated to go in this range. It wasn’t a reach, but a bet on his upside. I don’t know if he works out and neither do you. He’s 17.

The worst part of this week’s Michkov discourse is that the org tried their hardest not to make it a big deal. Tocchet didn’t bury him. Everyone with common sense was chill about it. A toxic subset of the fan base and one or two media members tried and succeeded in making this a circus.

I wouldn’t have necessarily scratched Michkov but I understand the logic. He hasn’t been effective. Hopefully watching from the press box gives him some perspective so he can come back stronger. I think If it weren’t for Tocchet’s actions earlier in the season this wouldn’t be a big deal.

This series has reminded the world that noble Captain Canada, elder statesman of the NHL, Sidney Crosby is and always has been a hater at heart and I think it’s beautiful that the Philadelphia Flyers can show the world he’s just like the rest of us, struggling not to lose his shit at work.
