"Ah, I've heard the truth hurts. Seems that old saying might be true hrm?" He had a bit of a grin on his face as he glanced over again. "Sorry that my remarks hit the target."

Dex was simply in no position to look at things rationally and make what was likely the correct decision.

020

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 14/06/2025

He whirled around, quickly throwing the piece of glass in the thing's direction before shifting all of his focus back on Strange. Focus was a loose word, as his gaze seemed rather unfocused. Manic, even. "-You're- doing this! I don't know -how- but you ARE and I'm -commanding you- to stop!"

110

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 14/06/2025

when he was at his most dangerous...well that, and anger. Either of those emotions made him throw out some of his critical thinking and act on pure instinct. Dex's instincts usually went straight to violence. That -thing- sniffing at his aura, whether tangible or not, was freaking him out.

100

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 14/06/2025

Well, that was going to be a bit of a problem. Benjamin Poindexter simply didn't do -boring and forgettable-. Especially not when he was finally freeing himself from the shackles of rigid order to keep his mind in check. But...everything going on around him still made him nervous. Nervous was-

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 14/06/2025

"Yeah man, you would think people at the Bureau would understand the need for some violence at times, right? Like the FBI doesn't see insane scenarios that simply call for things to be put down quickly and permanently. But..." He casually shrugged. "They didn't see things my way."

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 14/06/2025

The paperclip was immediately pocketed. As for the remark to not worry about her shoulder? Well, -that- was immediately discarded. "Ah trying to distract me with the weather so I don't ask again about your shoulder, hrm? It's not going to work."

100

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 14/06/2025

"It can be a good skill to have!" He was smiling a bit, playing this all off as simple light hearted conversation. Definitely nothing deeper here. No -real- trouble he had to avoid.

110

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 14/06/2025

"Maybe I should hire you as my lawyer" That was...perhaps the first thing he had ever said in a joking manner in the presence of Murdock. Or maybe he simply wasn't joking. "...Figured you'd want to know it wasn't anything personal against -you- or...even him."

000

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 13/06/2025

He couldn't keep the bitterness out of his voice, clearly speaking from experience.

100

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 13/06/2025

"Isn't it just -annoying- when you have a little fluke at work and the government gets involved? You have -one- incident at work where you violently put down someone who deserves it and suddenly you aren't useful anymore."

100

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 12/06/2025

...The blanket did feel nice. He was soaked and cold. "Thanks...let me look at your shoulder hrm? I'd like my paperclip back anyway."

100

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 12/06/2025

"I would certainly hope I look like -someone-. You know. Myself?" He parroted the move, gesturing to his own face. The scar running across his cheek. The missing tooth he had used to kill a guard. "Oh it was cool alright! Disgraced hero making a comeback? Honestly, good for you."

100

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 12/06/2025

Ah. Shit. "I don't believe we've -met- but I've seen you on the news" A hint, perhaps?

100

Dex || ◎Bullseye◎ @piercingpaper.bsky.social · 12/06/2025

"This seems like something you might be using." He eyed the blanket, not really wanting to take it from her if it was her only source of warmth out here. He was...aware...of Tandy's situation. "It's just water, it'll drip off eventually."

Dex just groaned at the whole situation. He'd gotten soaked -again- just stepping outside the door for a moment. This time it was right through his shirt. Damnit. "It wasn't meant as a kill shot, just a distraction so I could get out the door."

Oh. Shit. He was halfway out the door before her words hit his ears. Fuck. -Damnit- Dex moved back inside, look over in her direction with a bit of a wild look in his eyes. The sound had startled him, and his usual reply to being startled these days was 'commit violence and get away'.

To get that angle the pencil would have been thrown from... Instinctively his hand snapped out, a paperclip being thrown HARD in Tandy's direction. ...Just in case he was grabbing his jacket back up and turning to bolt back outside.

If getting him to lift his head had been the goal, well it certainly worked! His gaze snapped over to the fallen panel, every sense -alert-. His heart was racing, as was his mind as he quickly did the calculations. Pencil embedded in there, the panel had been a bit off the ground.

Homeless was a term for him, for sure. His current 'safehouse' was an abandoned apartment, and beyond that he had a 'home' in a cell back at Rikers. He would not be going there. Dex removed his jacket and began ringing what water he could out of it. He only moved far enough in to be out of the

He should have stopped to think more -clearly-. The problem was that once he got agitated, once he got -angry-, clear thought wasn't something he had large amounts of. It didn't matter that her hands were empty, didn't even matter she wasn't trying to attack him. It could be a trick, after all!

There was little to no chance he'd ever take up that offer. His time in the military was so far removed from his life these days. That said, one would be pretty stupid to just blow off Steve Rogers like that. "Appreciate that offer, I'll definitely keep it in mind. Thanks man."
