For the #MayAthenaBeWithYou #STSMayChallenge Based off @milosflaca.bsky.social’s art for that promt: Visitor He is a real person, after all. That is what strikes Hyoga the hardest: not that other people might love Camus or appreciate his company, but that he can feel the same. 1/🧵

SPARKLY DRAGON The Jeweled Finwing is actually a type of marine species of dragon. They live in the tropical waters of the Caribbean Sea, and like to jump out of the water and glide over the foam. #dragons #dragonart #watercolors #iridescent #fantasyart #magicalart #illustration

Always a good reminder: Your skill at social media is not equal to your skill as an artist. Higher follower number =/= better artist. Read more in my book How to Webcomic! thestarfishface.com/products/how-to… #art #webcomics

The Lesser Chameleon Dragon: XIX Century watercolorists called it The Cobalt Piper, as it almost always napped in their dirty water, reminding them not to drink it. Later artists christened it “Ditchwater Piper” - for its help in preventing accidental poisoning. #dragons #cute #watercolor

The Miniature American Chestnut Dragon, also called “Doradito”, is native to South America. It feeds on the pistils of chestnut flowers and makes his nest inside the nuts. It is often confused with a bumblebee because of its gold color and buzzy wing sound (it is also roughly that size!). #dragon

A blue sugar dragon, snacking on his pilfered treasure. You can see the process as the carousel goes. This took watercolor, gouache, and color pencils to finish. #dragon

Dexter the halls.

There are large outdoor decorations of polar bears, penguins and Santa wrapped in plastic on a stoop. A string of Christmas lights runs across the foreground like crime scene tape.

WHO WORE IT BETTER NOW? Feel free to drop a comment and suggest another mashup! I was thinking maybe Jiji-Umbreon… or Bluey-Growlithe. 🤭 #sanrio #cinamoroll #pokemon #pichu #kawaii #art #illustration

Sanrio’s character Cinamoroll appears in Pichu colors, while Pokemon character Pichu appears in Cinamoroll colors. The caption reads: who wore it better now?

Positive affirmations I’ve been working on for the past two weeks. Sometimes #art is the best way to work through things that are biting your ankles. These are also experiments in #watercolor and #mixedmediaart.

A girl gently holds a catterpillar. A chrysalis dangles from her ear, and a colorful moth is poised upon her back. Her eyes are closed and she looks peaceful. Beside her, the inscription reads: “You cannot live without accepting that things will always change.”

A young woman leans her cheek into her clasped hands. A starburst illuminates her forehead. She is cast in soft yellow light and mauve shadows. Next to her the inscription reads: “Despair Is not forever.”

A young woman leans her cheek into her clasped hands. A red heart shape is painted over her chest. She is cast in deep green light l and purple-blue shadows. Next to her the inscription reads: “Protect your dormant heart.”

A blonde little girl is crouched upon the ground. Her hair is braided, in a mix of yellow and rainbow tones. There are caricature wings at her back. Her face is raised towards the light in hope. The inscription next to her reads: “Leave space for awe.”

I have nothing but utmost respect for anyone who has finished writing a book, be it good or bad. ❤️ That being said, there is a special place in the Hades for those who leave their fans stuck on a cliffhanger forever. #PatrickRothfuss I’m giving you the side-eye.

'The interstellar mass had passed so close to their world that they feared the end was upon them. But it did not strike their sphere, smashing instead into their moon. Many celebrated their survival, but their joy was naive. The end was indeed nigh and their moon was its herald.' #scifi #microstory
