Calling all artists, streamers, and citizens of the internet! #SavetheVaquita Week is Oct 11-17th, and you can help! With fewer than 20 left, these little porpoises are almost gone and hardly anyone knows about them. Let's change that by flooding the web with vaquita content! Share and read on! +

Save the Vaquita Week October 11-17th 2026
With fewer than 20 estimated remaining, the vaquita is the most endangered marine
mammal on the planet. Found only in Mexico's Gulf of California, this little porpoise
is a relative of whales & dolphins and is the smallest of the cetaceans.

Vaquita are accidentally caught in illegal gillnets set for the totoaba fish, and they
sadly drown as bycatch. Fishermen seek out the totoaba for it's swim bladder
which is valued at many thousands of dollars in illegal markets.

Without intervention, the vaquita will soon be gone.

But you can help!

For one week, the goal is to flood the internet
with vaquita content. Use #SaveTheVaquita to
share art, videos, streams, and more on any
platform. If we all do a little, it adds up to a lot!

“Weretober 2026 6.) Fallen Knight Gargoyle” When the sword is returned he will wake again… #weretober2026 #gargoyle #lycanthrope #fallenknightgargoyle #gothic

A shattered ruin. A pillar had toppled long ago and the gargoyle attop it shattered. His sword has long been missing, but if returned he may well rise again…

“Weretober 2026-3.) Boar” So far my favorite. I’ll color this piece sometime. #weretober2026 #werebeast #boar #wereboar #lycanthropy

A Druid woman who’s turned into the shape of a were boar (or sow in her case). She stands by a Neolithic stone circle with a bronze sickle and freshly cut mistletoe. Oak leaves crown her brow and a woolen cloak is fastened to her shoulders.

Your occasional reminder that there are places to do this for free or minimal $$. Neocities, for one, is currently great for this. I personally use the code provided by rarebit.neocities.org for all of my comics. Cartoonist Coop also has great resources like this vid: youtu.be/cMuKaDJ5rq0?...

Came across a poem by Mervyn Peake entitled "To Live at all is Miracle Enough". Check out this stanza: Let every painter paint and poet sing And all the sons of music ply their trade; Machines are weaker than a beetle’s wing.
