You need to cite your source, one contemporaneous with the release of the book and not something written years after the fact. You can't, because such books were used to justify segregation. If he was pro-integration then he would never have used such a clumsy device in his writing at that time.

They go hide in an abandoned mine and let his entire family, including his pregnant daughter, die in a nuclear firestorm. I've read this book one time and it is so awful it has become indelibly etched in my mind. I have seen Heinlein fans recommend it as a good property for tv/film. It's awful /9
