The snow golem fists loosen their grip around the two adventurers. Sindri and the Iron Prince are released as the hands draw away and slink back into the snow. Frozetta admits, "I acted too rashly."
"Iron Prince!" Holly darts across the page and throws their stubby arms around Iron Prince's waist, giving them a hug.

Iron Prince doesn't pull away but rather reluctantly touches Holly's mitten with their gauntlet.
Frozetta explains, "We will escort the vagabonds to snowvale together. The Grand Thaw will want to speak to this metal toy."
Iron Prince corrects the snow witch, "Toy? I am not a ventrili." Frozetta throws her claws up and wonders aloud, "But Father Joy created all constructs!"

Iron Prince tilts their head down, a melancholic look resting on their face while steam curls from their crooked jaws. They gaze down at their clawed gloves and thinks, "He would never create something like me."
Iron Prince suddenly folds their arms with a huff and scoffs, "Tell your Grand Thaw I'm not interested." Frozetta replies with a confused "O-oh."
Sindri pops in, throwing his finger to the air as he chirps, "Ah! I'll speak to them! I'm far more diplomatic than that tin can."
Frozetta smiles shyly and scratches her cheek, "Eheh! Oh yes I'm sure."

Sindri still pinned to the ground snarls, "I'm a RAT you icy shits."
Holly protests, "Sindri isn't a foot soldier. He doesn't stand with the mouse king!"
Berg scowls, suspicious, "But he's a beastri." Garland shouts, "Yeah, royalist scum!"

Sindri snaps back, shouting, "You know nothing!" The snowmen are startled by the rat's sudden outburst.
Iron Prince watches Sindri, listening to him shout, "King Simon is nothing to me. My fealty belongs to no one!"
Iron Prince gazes ahead, thinking. Then glances to the side and exhales a gout of steam.

Holly pleads to their fellow snowmen. "Frozetta please! Just let them go!" Garland sneers, "I say crush 'em." Frozetta doesn't reply.
Holly continues, standing in front of the two pinned vagabonds while Berg and Garland stand aside. "Can't you see they're exhausted and starving?!"
"What would Father Joy think?"
Frozetta thinks for a moment "..." She drops her head in shame and lowers her claws, "He would be sad."

Holly shields their face from the radiant star sword, slowly inching closer to its hilt.
The snowman thinks to themselves as they approach, "She always finds a way to get what she wants."
"Even if I don't understand."
Holly grasps the star sword firmly. "Someone must act,"
The star sword explodes with radiant magic while Holly holds tight, "In her stead."
Holly's visage shifts in the dark while someone shouts their name.
"WAKE UP!"
The dream disappears and we find Holly laying in their bed of snow.

"HOLLY DAY!" A voice shouts off screen while the snowman wakes up.
Holly opens their eyes and squints, still shaking off sleep. Two snowmen stand over them.
A snow-puppy looking creature with floppy leaf ears, wearing a knit hat and scarf scowls at Holly, "Hey numbskull is your head on backwards?!"
"We're rescuing you!"
Holly snaps awake, embarrassed, and throw their mittens up in alarm. A rugged scarred snowman with an icicle nose smiles, "'Ey bud."

Holly, still frazzled looks to their left to see the swordsman snowman. "BERG?"
Berg replies casually, "That's me."

Holly looks to their right and frowns, "Garland." They meet eyes with the knit cap snowbold who scrunches up their nose in response.
Berg gestures his frozen hand towards the camera, "Frozetta's handling the interlopers."
Holly asks, "The who?"
We see Iron Prince caught in the clutches of a giant snowy fist. Sindri is pinned to the ground half buried under a second hand made out of snow. Holly shouts, "What the heck are you doing?!" Sindri gasps, "Gah, we were ambushed kid!!"
Frozetta, a snowman witch dressed in a cloak holds her claws out towards the pair, keeping them both pinned. She squeaks, "Hi, Holly."
Frozetta continues, "These vagabonds say you led them here. Is that true?"

Holly looks worried. They clutch their aviator cap in their paws, "Yeah but, there's been a misunderstanding!"
They plop their hat onto their head. "These two are my friends!"

Holly is sitting in the snow enjoying a fresh ice cream cone.
A mouse dressed in a Ponderosan soldier uniform appears and swiftly kicks Holly's ice cream.
Holly watches it soar through the air and splat onto the snow.
The mouse points and laughs while Holly shakes their fist and silently curses the mouse.

The two have a silent stand-off before the mouse draws his sword with a toothy smile. Holly panics and runs away.
The mouse soldier leads the charge dragging in a small platoon of mice to chase the snowman. Holly flees in terror, trips over their nubby legs, and face plants into the snow.

Holly cowers while the squad of mouse soldiers leer over them. The captain points his sword to the snowman's chest, pinning them to the ground. He says "Running makes you look guilty." Holly says, "Guilty of what?"

The captain sneers, "Does it matter? You're dead either way." A star outside of the panel zips across the page, spiraling softly before plunging towards the ground.
The mouse captain continues, "Just like your snow queen."
The star crashes into the earth with a thunderous kaboom.

The smoke and snow settles. Holly pops out of the ground.
They see mouse soldiers crudely frozen in place with harsh icicles shooting from their fur.
But the snowman is unaffected.
They look towards a glowing star-like sword stabbed into the ground ominously.
Holly utters, "You're wrong. Our queen isn't dead."

goodnight sky 10

Holly trudges through the starlit snow while aurora washes through the sky. The snowman plops onto the ground and yanks off their hat, revealing to small leaf ears. Holly prepares a bed of snow.

Holly lays down under the covers of fluffy snow and gazes up at the stars. "Goodnight sky!" They say to the sea of night above. Then they roll onto their side and drift off to sleep under the snow.

Iron Prince and Sindri rest together in their shallow ice cave trying to sleep. Sindri squawks, "Phew! It's snug in here. Move over. OW! You're HOT!" Sindri in the darkness only lit by the knight's humming furnace. says "So what got you exiled, princey? The law finally caught up to ya?"
Iron Prince replies flatly, "I set a ventrili troupe on fire."
"Their performance had me laughing till the stage roared up in flames." We see an outline of Iron Prince surrounded by a wild glow of smoke laughing maniacally with their claws and sharp metal teeth.

"What about you Sindri?" We cut back to the present where Iron Prince side eyes the rat next to them.
"Tch! The only one I've ever loved decided I was worthless." Sindri glares forward, his expression dark in the dull light. He falls onto his back, folding his arms behind his head and sheds a tear.
"And just like that—" "I was gone."
"But I'm going to prove him wrong."
Iron Prince looks at Sindri with a sour expression.
Sindri continues,
"I'm going to make things right."

Sindri looks back at Iron Prince who's turned away, still steaming.
Holly throws their finger to the air and declares, "Now that we've been properly introduced!" They throw their arms into the air with a big smile, "Let's get camping!" Sindri seems curious! And Iron Prince is indifferent.
The three adventurers carry more firewood and hefty pine fur branches back to their little camp. Sindri and Holly finish their snow shelter while Iron Prince keeps watch.

The adventurers rest around a fire while Sindri sips pine tea and Iron Prince gobbles up firewood. Holly reaches towards the fire, warming their snow hands. Iron Prince warns the snowman not to sit too close. Holly, mesmerized by the fire says "But it tickles!" Iron Prince pushes Holly across the snow away from the campfire, "You have the self preservation of a walnut." Holly scowls.

Holly watches the rat and robot sitting around the fire at a safe distance with a frustrated glower. Sindri glances up at the starry night sky and says "Well, I'm going to bed." Iron Prince agrees "As am I. We need to rest." Holly is surprised!
"Already? I-I guess it is getting pretty chilly." Holly smiles sadly. "Goodnight you two."

Sindri replies "You're not coming with?" Holly bashfully answers, "Nah, I'm used to sleeping outside in the cold."
Sindri laughs "Hah! Ah, I guess that makes sense." Holly gives the rat a crooked grin with their hands on their hips. Sindri begins to walk away as Holly's smile falters, "You're a snowman after all."
Holly realizes they're not alone in the dark and snow.
