Wide-field monochrome H-alpha astrophotography image showing a dense star field across Perseus, Auriga, and Taurus. Bright emission nebulae are visible, including the California Nebula (NGC 1499), Heart and Soul region, Flaming Star Nebula (IC 405), and surrounding faint hydrogen clouds against a grainy stellar background.

First light with the miniCAM8M (IMX585 sensor), paired with the FMA180 Pro (f/4.5) for a compact mono imaging setup. Used a small cheap spectrometer to compare (just for fun) the included filters (XiMei) to a set of ZWO narrowbands. To me they look to be slightly better? #astronomy #astrophotography

Tonight's AP image is that of our nearest galactic neighbor, Andromeda. When processing this I worked to preserve the delicate outer halo of M31. The quality of this data allowed me to preserve the detail and show it off to you in all its majesty. #astrophotography data.bortle.org/datasets/vie...
This is a high-resolution, image of the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) captured in Hydrogen-alpha (H-alpha), red, green, and blue (HALRGB) light. It showcases the galaxy's prominent spiral structure, with its bright central core, dust lanes, and star-forming regions illuminated in reddish hues due to H-alpha emissions. The surrounding areas exhibit a mix of bluish and golden tones from stellar populations and gas clouds. The image also features a densely packed starfield and nearby satellite galaxies, including M32 and M110, visible as bright regions near the primary galaxy.

Good evening ladies, gentlemen and dolphins! Tonight's AP comes again from the archives of @picazo.bortle.org and processing done again by me. NGC7000, the North America nebula. Nearly 40 hours of integration. Give it a shot and share! data.bortle.org/datasets/vie... #astronomy #astrophotography
This stunning SHO palette image of NGC 7000, commonly known as the North America Nebula. The image uses filters with a similar bandpass to Hubble Space Telescope's narrowband filters to map sulfur (SII) to red, hydrogen-alpha (Ha) to green, and oxygen (OIII) to blue, creating vibrant and intricate colors. The image showcases bright blue-green regions, where ionized oxygen dominates, transitioning into yellow and red hues where sulfur and hydrogen emissions are more prevalent. Dark dust lanes carve dramatic, jagged shapes, creating striking contrasts against the bright emission nebula. The scattered stars add depth, emphasizing the grandeur of this celestial scene.

Another absolutely insane dataset from @picazo.bortle.org This time of the Iris nebula. A dusty part of space captured in with 21 hrs of broadband from a remote observatory. Processed by yours truly. Data available for processing below: #astronomy #astrophotography data.bortle.org/datasets/vie...
An image of the Iris Nebula (NGC 7023) surrounded by dark interstellar dust and bright stars of blue and orange. The nebula at the center glows with a blue hue reflecting the light from a young star at the center. Intricate wisps of brown and black dust filaments spread across the image, creating a dramatic contrast against the starry background. The stars vary in brightness and are scattered across the frame, highlighting the dense richness of the surrounding region in space.

Taking the full moon as an opportunity to collect some data on other targets. Might as well collect SII and OIII on this also? IC405 & IC410 - 48 x 900s (12hr) H-alpha #astrophotography #astronomy #nebula #space @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social

For all my new followers! Here's a data drop of the Rosette nebula. Thx for the follows and thx to my buddy @picazo.bortle.org for making this data available. Both processed by yours truly. Details in the alt text of the images. /1 data.bortle.org/datasets/vie... #astrophotography #astronomy

This palette shows off the hydrogen alpha (reds) and oiii (blues and pink in the center) emissions present in the nebula.58 hours of the Rosette nebula processed in the SHO (Hubble) palette captured with a mono camera and narrowband filters. This palette shows off the emissions from 3 different gases present in the Rosette. Oranges represent hydrogen, yellow (sulfur) and blues (oiii).
