Emet-Selch from Final Fantasy XIV is sitting next my miqo'te Warrior of Light. Her head is resting on his shoulder, and she is faintly glowing. Text reads "the "unholy" character is being guarded by a divine being"

the original meme the previous photo is based on

My completely self-indulgent, hugging Emet-Selch video. No sound because I made it to use for a different video down the line. youtu.be/-FKkcAFPJrM?...

ruumiistani irtoan melkein / ja itseäni katselen (I like to watch) #art #ffxiv #Emet-Selch

Summary: Art of Emet-Selch, wine glass in hand, eyes facing the viewer. He is illuminated by a bright room behind him; over his right shoulder the vague shapes of people can be seen.

Translator's note:
The Finnish lines accompanying the piece are from the song Makeaa myrkkyä by Puolikuu. Their approximate English meaning is "I almost detach from my body / as I watch myself"

I didn't do a good job uploading any updated screenshots of Emet-Selch to Bluesky today but here is one of my favorites.

Another one from the archives. #FFXIV

FFXIV comic pg
Emet-Selch (turning): Ah. There you are.
Emet-Selch (walking jauntily towards the Lightwarden who used to be the WoL): Trailing the scent of blood and grief. Did you finally part with those dear little tagalongs of yours?

FFXIV comic page.
Emet-Selch (reaching up to cup the lightwarden's face): Come now... don't look so forlorn. The worst of it is over.
(The lightwarden is shedding tears quietly, looking down at Emet-Selch)
Emet-Selch: We are one step closer to the rejoining. And when it is complete... everything we lost will be restored. Including you. The true you. My friend, whole and hale.

Emet-Selch (leaning in, almost a kiss): In the meantime, just try to bear the discomfort, hmm?
(They embrace, tightly)
Emet-Selch: Stay here, if it helps. For as long as you like.

I've been slowly working on one that I might share someday. I'm more concerned about my ability to write (or lack thereof :P)

I don't remember who said it about Emet-Selch so I can't give credit, but I'm saying it too. I can't believe the ffxiv developers made me fall for a guy with this haircut.
