iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

[ Their head tilts as they consider her, one hand lifting between them in a small request for patience. ] Okay, well... humor me, right? As a plant, I’ve got the unique privilege of being the only... “alive” thing from your room. Now, for the rest of these guys, it's whatever, right?

[ They let her finish. Her insistence bears steadily against them until the last of their easy posture folds beneath it. ] [ Head dipping as the hands that so often speak around their words fall quiet at their sides. They look more like Kris than ever, now. ] ... You don’t owe me anything, ’Elly.

... My dream is to protect /you/. You know that, right? You're not supposed to be making me happy. You've got this backwards. I want /you/ to have more friends. You know, so you stop venting to a fuckin' cactus. 'Should, uh. Try doin' this for Kris. They'd appreciate this more, I think.

[ Hm. A surrogate child for the Flower Man, tended to by his most loyal followers? Appalling. They'd get along poorly. ] ...nnnNah. I don't think that'd work out. I've already pissed off, like, two people who hang over there. And, also, I'm just not that interested. What, you tryna' get rid of me?

000

I mean, if you wanna think of me as that old, that's your choice. I don't much care, either way. Just, uh. Tryna go with what I think would be better for you guys. .. 'S not like I've got any other friends 'round here.

000

You're not supposed to think about it too hard.

000

Sorry, I'm two minutes old and don't understand this question. Ask something else.

000

My fault. ("You like being bullied, don't you?")

000

Can't change that, sorry. Best I can do is leave.

000

I feel as if my presence invokes some deep uncomfortableness within you that makes it difficult to talk to me. But I've been alive for a few hours at most, so what do I know?

000

Well. I think Noelle would hate you, for one.

000

You wouldn't. [ ^^ Pitch perfect Kris Impression. ]

that cactus in kris's home is a bad bitch alright. somebody has to say it.

030

The latest teen trend is called "jfkmaxxing." It’s when you are outwardly vivacious and express a winsome optimism but are inwardly consumed by various unspeakable maladies and whisper to confidantes your fantasies about your impending obsolescence.

She does fantasize about that quite frequently.

A cacti’s dream... [ They turn from the camera, ascot trailing dramatically in the wind. ] ... Is to bag fine shyt.
