hey @aaron.bsky.team why do you think you can make a joke about my rapist like this, my rapist you gave authority to sell legitimate bluesky merch through, who you gave money to, who used her clout on the platform to gain access to and rape other trans bluesky users?

Good night everybody
A scene from the anime Sailor Moon where Usagi is holding a sign in front of Mamoru. Mamoru is sitting with his arms folded and his eyes closed.

The sign Usagi is holding says :Cops aren't supposed to kill guilty people either.:

I'm glad to hear that Julie Inman-Grant is going to be stepping down as Australia's eSafety Commissioner. The damage she has done all in the name of "protecting the children" will take decades to undo. I hope we never have to be influenced by her shit opinions again.

Today's film was Drag Me To Hell (2009). Sam Raimi makes a kinda boring Evil Dead-esque film with a charisma vacuum as the lead. But it has some madcap Raimi camera work, the kind of zany horror only he can make, and a foul-mouthed goat, so it's not all bad.

No spoilers for anyone who doesn't know what the film is about, but Digger sure sounds like the kind of film that gets made after a 72-hour cocaine binge where nobody is around to point out that your ideas make no sense.

Tonight's film was The Birdcage (1996). I'm sure this was seen as progressive in the 90's, but fucking oof. So many tropes played for laughs, everyone is just an arsehole, a caricature or both, and Hank Azaria being fucking racist. Just a yikes to watch with 2026 eyes.

Tonight's film was Iron Lung (2026). Not bad for a first film and it shows a lot of promise, but there are a few issues that really drag it down. It's far too damn long for what it is, for one. And while Markiplier is an okay actor, he's not good enough to essentially solo a two hour film yet.

If more than 20,000 white children were killed in another part of the world, everyone would be shouting about it at their concerts. Treating some children’s lives as less worthy of outrage is racist. Silence during a genocide is not neutral.

Tonight's film was All About Eve (1950). Another classic film I've finally gotten around to. I really liked it, but it would've been better if I'd seen it years ago. Some of the film's impact is lost if you already know the plot due to cultural osmosis, I suspect.

Tonight's film was Midsommar (2019). A well filmed and acted film that completely failed for me. There was no building tension as it started at a 5 and got to a 7 at best, then stayed there for an hour and a half. The themes about toxic relationships and family were badly managed. Not for me.
