Vagrant Emperor to light in the Cot Valley, Cornwall, last night. Found sitting next to the light trap at 11pm. Flew very high southwards along the coastline shortly after this photo was taken this morning. @britishdragonflies.bsky.social #Dragonflies

Dark Mottled Willow to light in the Cot Valley, Cornwall, last night - Boom 🤯 - shown here with one of the 3 Small Mottled Willows also trapped. Perhaps a first for this combo in the UK? @migrantmothuk.bsky.social #TeamMoth

In the quest for migrant moths, this local resident Crescent Dart wasn't on the moth radar, from last night's Cot Valley (Cornwall) trap. Perfect conditions for trapping (if not dropping a mega migrant) with 493 of 53 the highest totals I've had trapping here at this time of year. #TeamMoth

Another shot of the Swallow-tailed Moth from earlier this week. It was quite settled on this seemingly incongruous cobble. Using focus stacking, I often had to wait for it to stop slowly pumping its wings up and down. #TeamMoth

Birch Mocha in torchlight, on a Surrey Heath on Monday night. Yet to occur in the North Hampshire garden, and looking unlikely given the Hampshire distribution with my 10km square and all adjacent ones having no recent records. #TeamMoth

Two Tree-lichen Beauty to light in the Hampshire garden Monday night. Swallow-tailed Moth, Scarce Silver-lines(2), & Yellow-tail added to the summer feel amongst 418 of 64. A Clifden Nonpareil teased with a quick wing flash before flying off at the start (and end) of its photo session. #TeamMoth

Meal Moth (Pyralis farinalis) to light in Vlaams-Brabant, Belgium. A striking moth and seemingly unmistakable, but some pale examples of Scarce Meal Moth (Pyralis lienigialis) could easily be overlooked as this species. The later still at large in the South Midlands perhaps? #TeamMoth

The subtle brown hues of a Pale-lemon Sallow to light in Vlaams-Brabant, Belgium recently. I do well for moths dependent on Poplars in this part of Belgium. #TeamMoth

Oak Marbled Brown (Drymonia querna), one of two to light recently in Vlaams-Brabant, Belgium. One of the few widespread macro moths that I regularly trap in Belgium and has yet to occur in the UK. #TeamMoth

Calybites phasianipennella NFG to light in North Hampshire last night, the rather striking quadruplella form. Collected off the sheet that surrounds the trap on three sides, that has proved very productive for micros in the last few months. #TeamMoth

Beet Moth (from last night) sitting in a mini jungle of Woodruff and Creeping Jenny in a raised bed into which I often release micros to photograph. Once there are invariably more placid than when in a pot, and allow disturbance around them as I reposition vegetation to get a clear shot. #TeamMoth

Clay Triple-lines in the North Hampshire garden yesterday, one of three. The similar Jersey Mocha should turn up in the garden at some point, having being recorded nearby recently and seemingly spreading north in the county. I'm hoping it'll be one of those 'obvious when you see it' moths. #TeamMoth

Pammene spiniana NFG in North Hampshire yesterday amongst 549 of 110. A difficult day-flying moth to attract by all accounts, but the combination of light trap, FUN lure and larval food plant (Blackthorn/Hawthorn) probably all helped. #TeamMoth

Celypha rosaceana in the North Hampshire garden last night. Only the second garden record, with the first only 4 days ago. I good subject for my new OM TG-7. This shot was hand held, no flash, with in camera focus stacking. A bit of a game changer for me with micro photography I think! #TeamMoth

Gothic in the Burntisland (Fife) garden last night amongst 309 of 69. Not a moth I'm likely to see in Hampshire with records declining to no more than a couple of moths in any of the last 5 years. I had to wait until late this afternoon for the rain to stop before getting a decent photo! #TeamMoth

Thursday 25/06, with a min of 21℃, produced the highest totals this year with 754 of 162 (77 macro v 85 micro). 7 NFG micros which included Yponomeuta irrorella and Triaxomasia caprimulgella. The later to UV but likely in the garden due to my persistent if unsuccessful use of the HOR lure. #TeamMoth
