I'm sorry to post seriously for a second, but I need to respond to the allegations that I am a Leeds Fan. I'd just like to make it very clear that I am, perhaps blissfully, unaware of what(?) or where(?) Leeds is.

Generational find recently, it's been too long since I read it.

Red Reinforcements. Basing is going to be done at the very end, and the armored car needs its decals/freehand slogan, and then weathering after.

Some in-progress Mongols. I didn't have enough time to finish them tonight but they're coming along nicely.

Reds. WGA plastics and a Copplestone figure. More to do.

It occurs to me that some context for all of these cats and their world might be desirable, but I'm not really a fan of the idea of posting "lore dumps" in a vacuum as it feels like a lot of uninvited rambling about a personal setting. I'm not really sure what to do about that. Short-form fiction?

PHIX Systems @phixsystems.bsky.social · 06/06/2026

More peasants inbound. These are going to be single pose models, but with different outfit, head, and weapon options. The designs are drawing from assorted Chinese warlord era photos, as well as ashigaru kit (the sausage link thing is partitioned rice rations, for example.)

PHIX Systems @phixsystems.bsky.social · 03/06/2026

Peasant pearcat mark 1. I'm pretty happy with how she came out, and now I just need to make a few "generic" spearcat poses, then vary them with different clothing styles and heads. Pictured with the Haomao demo model for scale (who I need to revise because I made them taller lol.)

I assure you, spear skirmishers are an absolutely vital part of the science fiction arms race.

Some Spacekneckt mercenaries for my buddy's game, Wanted! Reward: cc 10000. Posting here for accountability (social media indirectly peer pressuring me into painting)

PHIX Systems @phixsystems.bsky.social · 27/04/2026

It's been a bit since I posted some of my cats. I've been working on expanding the parts library for the Haomao peasantry, so I can make a multipart kit of armored line troops and unarmored skirmishers. And also something that nobody needs to worry about.

I really need to get back to sculpting my own stuff, but painting so often has been therapeutic and contemplative, which I need recently. WIP Steel Legion Sergeant, by Tiny Legend. Probably the best option out there for those who want something that hews close to the source designs.

Refurbishing some old Chimeras; adding drop-in cupolas for the assorted 3.5e codex weapon options. Really quite happy with the vehicle commanders.

Brasshead as photogenic as ever amidst the champions of the legion, with Slambo aura farming offscreen lol.

Very rarely do I get to take my full legion of Iron Warriors out of the box, but last night's 40k 4th edition event at LA Wargames was the correct time.

I got this Chaos Renegade a few years ago at a swap meet and have been using him as a Chaos Lord/Lieutenant. I decided to add on to his original owner's paintjob to preserve the history of the mini. Such a wonderful sculpt, like a grotesque little totem to darkness. Base needs some work, lol.

Been experimenting with some cheap paint pens I got off of Amazon upon the recommendation of Summon Lesser Maker on youtube. They're pretty good for less than $20! And a lot brighter and more saturated than the colors I'm used to working with, at that.

Late night flow state possession; this is just a very rough WIP block-out of a Haomao Clan Magistrate; as the local steppe warlord, you hire her to listen to your peasants complain so you don't have to. I've got a good feeling about this one.

I love priming miniatures, but I would never, EVER paint one. (Sculpts by Heresy Miniatures, they rule. Necromunda season is upon my club due to foul machinations and this is like my fourth flavor of Delaque Gang, because I love being bald and beautiful.)

It's come together pretty well I think. Now to simply model the rest of the rest of the pilot. It's a multipurpose helmet for fixed wing and rotary craft operators. The combination headphone cups/mounting brackets are rather uncomfortable if you have big cat ears, so some pilots remove them.

1163

PHIX Systems @phixsystems.bsky.social · 23/12/2025

Everyone loves pilot rescue missions, right? Mildly annoyed that the dubiously-printable adjustment knob is covered up by the helmet's forehead protector but that's just a reason to use these on more than one model. When I finish it. Leonidas sweep (my other creatures are so neglected lol)

PHIX Systems @phixsystems.bsky.social · 20/12/2025

More tinkering; a SPYNX microgunner wearing an Arsenal Cloak and the microgun in two configurations. The barrels don't spin; it's just three bricks of stacked bullets hooked to a battery and some scary glowy bits. This one needs way more time in the oven. I now have time off. Exciting times ahead.

PHIX Systems @phixsystems.bsky.social · 02/12/2025

I was seized by the Spirit of da Waaagh and entered a flow state, breaking out this model I got ages ago and gluing bits and bobs to it. Still not done but I'm happy with the night's work.

Happy Thanksgiving. The turkey is already cooking, so here's something else with the texture of uncooked poultry. SPYNX Securities is the third and strangest faction; a bunch of assassins with extensive cybernetic augmentation. The long coat mini is on cults/MMF for free. I fucking love Aeon Flux.

PHIX Systems @phixsystems.bsky.social · 23/11/2025

Chambered in the same rocket shell as the Gyrogun; the King of all Warlord Pistols; the Haomauser "Baron Express". A curious case of an ancient design being adapted into a utility gun for Railway Union Crews, who often have to operate in distant provinces and fight off bandits as a matter of course.

24814

PHIX Systems @phixsystems.bsky.social · 23/11/2025

Haomao gyrogun variants; a weird riveted-together drum magazine and what's very likely the "original" configuration of the weapon in a short rifle configuration instead of the rocket-spitting punch dagger they've since mangled it into. The lip on the barrel screams "pirate cannon" to me, lol.
