The auto sales company Carfax having never (to my knowledge) done Dracula-based advertising is is a serious misstep. It would work on at least a dozen people who know too much about Dracula, including me, a person who will never buy a car.

Edward Gorey designed the sets for the play, and while they didn’t have film sets that looked like Gorey drawings it was very easy to imagine them being drawn as such. Carfax Abbey especially was maximally gothic and creepy. This is one worth watching.

Finally getting to a gap in my Dracula studies, the 1979 version with Frank Langella in the title role. Based on a stage production he also headlined in. Spoilers: it kind of rules!

Tight shot on Frank Langella’s face and surprisingly large hair as he says the signature line ‘I am Count Dracula’. And everyone cheers.
