There's a common notion that acculturation harms immigrant health, but acculturation is multidimensional (e.g., linguistic, residential, social). My new work shows it's the *mismatch* between dimensions - not acculturation itself - that explains immigrants' health decline: doi.org/10.1177/0022...

The Liberal platform is fairly strong on policy but rather weak on governance. It would require a serious effort to renew intergovernmental relations to accomplish this - by institutionalizing Team Canada and envisioning a formal role for municipal and Indigenous stakeholders. liberal.ca/cstrong/

Seit 2014 gab es unzählige Verschärfungen des Asyl- und Ausländerrechts, immer mit dem Kalkül, den Druck vom rassistischen Kessel zu nehmen. Die AfD stand damals bei 6%. Heute ist sie mit 25% stärkste Kraft. Diese Politik hat empirisch versagt. Trotzdem halten CDU und SPD daran fest. Unbelehrbar.

So, “real reform” might require less stringent interpretations of human rights and Germany purposefully undermining EU asylum laws/procedures? And mandatory detention to boot?
