You know what would really be useful in #Premiere or #Resolve? Having a warning indicator when a clip you pull onto your timeline will overwrite/replace another that's outside the current view. Here, I made a mock-up. #postchat #postproduction #editing #videoeditor

Colorist quick tip when working Resolve: To retain any node cache status (auto/on/off) when copying a grade via middle-click: 1) Right click in the gallery pane 2) tick "Copy Grade: Copy All Node Layers" Glad I finally figured this out! 😅 #colorist #resolve #videopost

Today’s #Colorist Tip: Try to work modular, especially when you can expect changes. For example, with this node tree I can tweak certain colors completely individually from the look in case the client wants to experiment but their brand colors should remain intact. #colorgrading #color

A node tree showing a junction of a side-tree only used for pulling mattes via qualifiers. Their alpha is then fed into individual nodes where the grading happens. The results are combined in a parallel note at the end.

The turnaround time on this one was wild: To-color delivery of a 60 GB ProRes4444 from Japan; I stared my 4.5 hrs of #colorgrading on an mp4, of which I lost 1 hr trying to online the ProRes; rendering; then 60 gigs to transfer back to Japan for final assembly😅 www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsNy...
