A thread of some of the best and worst celebrations I saw covering fans in Philly last night. First up, Ben Franklin handing out shots of Bird Gang whiskey.

Rest in weirdness, David Lynch. My favorite Lynch film probably won't be mentioned in any obits because it's his least strange. It's appropriately titled, "The Straight Story" and it's about a man who drives his lawnmower a great distance to see his dying brother. www.inquirer.com/obituaries/d...

This story by my colleague Ximena Conde about the woman who was walking with her husband when he was hit and killed by a SEPTA bus is gut-wrenching, enraging, and yet, still filled with so much love. Currently sobbing at my keyboard. www.inquirer.com/news/philade...

Always surprised how many folk on social media are unaware that highly visible women online regularly get threatened w/ rape and other violence. Happens to every woman w/ a substantial following I know, has for a decade regardless of platform. And no, authorities don’t care and that’s no solution.

The Philly animal shelter (ACCT) needs fosters very badly right now, so if you’re in the Philly area and can take a furry friend, now’s a great time to start fostering. I fostered an absurd number during quarantine but stopped when travel picked back up. Time for a litter of kittens 😈

Every year I co-host and volunteer for Philly mutual aid drives. I've noticed we are starting to get residents from Upper Darby, which is welcomed. This is a sign of unaffordable access happening in other counties connected to Philly.
