There is no easy, concise way to describe this Phillies team, in equal parts talent-laden and flawed, underachieving yet capable of heroics.

I dunno man. The two guys who died in April and found second life later on being the ones to defibrillate the Phils back from the dead in the playoffs feels like some kinda weird poem

Look it isn’t very often that a franchise with such a storied history of being bleak and downtrodden has a chance to dig further into the bedrock, but today is one of those days. Maybe. Maybe not. Isn’t this fun

Losing lately isn't great but it doesn't change a ton, or hasn't yet anyway. If Luzardo isn't healthy? Now that's a much meaner lizard to deal with.

Hockey was, believe it or not, my favorite sport up until the lockout in 2004. A big part of the reason why was Barry Melrose and his glorious fever dream of a mullet breaking down Adam Foote’s defense or marveling at how fast Pavel Bure was. A little graphical study on "entropy" and predictability. Who is easiest to guess on, and how much does it matter? www.sequencebaseball.com/viz/sequence...
A scatter plot of MLB pitchers in 2026. The x-axis, left-to-right, is labeled 0.5 to 3.0 with label text "H(pitch | count) in bits, lower = more predictable." The y-axis, bottom-to-top, is labeled -6 to +6 with label text "Run value / 100 (higher = better)." Pitchers on the Phillies are highlighted, with their dots a golden color instead of the standard blue.
