Austrias second highest summit #Wildspitze with its surrounding glacier which is shrinking more each year, a fate shared with basically all glaciers in the Alps. #MountainMonday #landscape #landscapephotography #aerials #fujifilm #eastcoastkin #ECK #photography #glacier #classicmono #blackandwhite

Aerial view photographed from a small plane high above Austrias second highest mountain (3.768m) named Wildspitze and its glacier. The name translates to "wild peak" which does not fit very well as it is comparably easy to climb and quite popular.

When the temperatures drop and low clouds roll into Alpine valleys from the plains autumn has arrived. A good time for photography like on this memorable evening down by the river. #stunday #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #fujifilm #EastCoastKin #ECK #photography #naturephotography #alps

Evening sunlight shines through low clouds which cover the mountains and a river in the foreground flowing through the frame.

This narrow rocky canyon with its small cascades does not see a lot of sun, luckily I arrived there at the right time for a beam of light making it through. #waterfallwednesday #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #fujifilm #waterfall #EastCoastKin #ECK #photography #naturephotography #austria

Glowing peaks! One of these rare moments when things lined up nicely: clouds forming, the evening sun breaking through and being in the right place to capture the scene. #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #mountains #EastCoastKin #ECK #scenicsaturday #scape #aerials #nature #alps #austria

An action shot for a change, inspired by this weeks #alphabetchallenge - the theme is #WeekJforJetBlack so here is a (mostly) black jet showing its topside during a spectacular display at an #airshow in Switzerland. #photography #aviation #avgeek #aviationdaily #fujifilm #fujix #eastcoastkin

An F-16 with a special black/grey "Viper" snake themed paint job of the Belgian Air Force flying at an airshow in Switzerland on a beautiful blue sky day. Smoke trails are added on the wingtips for better viewing experience, some vapor forming on the wings prove that the jet is in a tight turn with a lot of G-force working on the airframe and pilot.

A small collection of the many incredible waterfalls Iceland has to offer for #waterfallwednesday ! The raw power of nature can be felt at these places. #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #fujifilm #photography #nature #Iceland #EastCoastKin #ECK #waterfall

Seljalandsfoss in the south of Iceland, a famous waterfall you can even walk behind. Taken in summer when it almost never gets dark, very early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Close up of Svartifoss waterfall showing the impressive natural basalt columns formed by volcanic activity.

Hengifoss in the east of Iceland flows down a spectacular vertical wall with differt colored layers of rock.

Háifoss is the third highest waterfall in Iceland with a height of 122m. A rainbow forms at its bottom when the sun shines.

A fresh layer of snow and a deep blue sky create a strong contrast and made me pick black and white for this one. #landscape #landscapephotography #blackandwhitephotography #blackandwhite #monochrome #fujix #fujifilm #winter #winterwonderland #snow #alps #ClassicMono #EastCoastKin #MountainMonday

An alpine landscape in black and white, strong contrasts between the dark sky and snow in various bright tones.

I am not much of a wildlife photographer (I admire the patience of those who are!) but ibex, the kings of the mountains, are an exception because they are not shy at all. Here is a proud male example in its natural habitat. #fujix #monochrome #ClassicMono #EastCoastKin #MountainMonday #wildlife

Capra ibex are the kings of the Alps, living high up in rough mountainous terrain. Having almost no natural predators comes in handy for the photographer as they dont flee when approached carefully. Here is a proud and full grown male example looking down from a cliff. Did you know its age can be measured by the size of its horn (this one is at least 12 years old)?

philippr @philippr.bsky.social · 16/02/2025

Combinig my passions flying and photography is one of my favourite things. Here is some golden late afternoon light illuminating the tyrolean mountains seen from onboard a small plane. #AlphabetChallenge #WeekGforGold #lshweekend #landscapephotography #landscapehead #fujifilm #EastCoastKin #aerials

The Alps of north Tyrol/Austria shortly before sunset with some clouds shining in golden light. Captured while flying a single engine sports aircraft. Being able to position (almost) freely in a 3-dimensional space enables endless photographic possibilites but is not as easy as it sounds. (hah, who said men are bad at multi-tasking :-))

philippr @philippr.bsky.social · 15/02/2025

Winter is perfect for b/w photography as the snow reduces colors anyway and a deep blue sky creates a strong contrast. Here is an example from a skitour in the wild, do you agree? #landscapephotography #blackandwhitephotography #monochrome #fujifilm #winterwonderland #blueskyartshow #EastCoastKin

Monochrome photo of a mountain landscape taken on a beautiful day with a dark sky and bright snow creating an intense contrast.

Time for a first post, so here is my favorite photo of a place I visit every now and then. Takes some effort to get to but always pays off. After the ibex I was intending to (photo!)shoot didn’t turn up I was treated with this magical sunset view. #landscapephotography #fujifilm #sunset #mountains
