Maryland's new state law prohibiting law enforcement officers from wearing masks to conceal their faces and requiring them to wear identification while on duty went into effect yesterday. Within hours the US dept of Justice filed a lawsuit challenging it. IMO a $1500 fine isn't harsh enough.
