So fun! Damon has his sculptures far & wide now. We rented bikes in Copenhagen to find the originals & one of my first hikes w/Mateo the first month I had him was to the one in Breckenridge CO.

#ThrowbackThursday to last October when Mateo & I hopped in the car, drove 12hrs to New River Gorge NP in WV, hiked 12hrs the next day, then home the next! All so I could get the F outta FL & see some fall foliage. (Plus Milton had ruined my planned 2024 trip so I was determined.)

I brought one home in carry-on from Buenas Aires. They were once famous there in use as restaurant wine pitchers so of course as a wino, I wanted one. Turns out not quite so ubiquitous to buy but I found one in a 2nd hand shop.

It’s a gray and rainy day (week!) here and Mateo’s strike has begun. Refusing to go out & when I make him, he just pokes around at loose ends. The @baileyandbrawny.bsky.social friend raincoat is now out so we get less soaked!

#ParkChat I think my last park visit was Feb, when I took a day off skiing (snow was very meh) & did a N Yellowstone day.

Mateo was all settled in to watch The Emmys. We only stayed up enough to watch Kate O’Flynn win & Harrison Ford not win.

#FlashbackFriday Lake Ontario appreciation post. My aunt grew up in a tiny village near the lake & still has a cottage by Fair Haven Beach State Park. So much serenity there & memories of so many good family summer visits. The orange turd can take the L on this.

Guy on the Mallorca cliff by us had a whole ginormous filtered setup that zoomed like 250x and live-streamed to his phone for the solar totality. It was so cool.

Back in 2015 they had a professional photog holiday pet event that benefitted ASPCA. The phetchpup got into a kerfuffle in line & broke a vase. I offered to pay but they couldn’t have been nicer & said no, it’s expected at a dog event. So I feel good supporting them 😊

Plunged into darkness on the Mallorcan cliffside of Punta de el Toro as the eclipse reaches totality. Slight glow of sunset clouds is to the northwest. People’s cell phones taking pictures show in the foreground.

Totality has passed and the partial eclipse is still in process as the sun sets into the Mediterranean Sea. Clouds and the sun are Shia sea of orange. Many boats in the water watching nature’s show.

Finally heading home- one final day in Madrid & will get Mateo home Saturday morning ❤️🐾 Such a comfortable night at my free points room at Accor Ibis Prado, with an upgrade woohoo.

This morning’s hike on the Cami de Cavalls was to the beach at Cala Mitjana. While on the sand there were some people actually horseback riding on the so-named “way of the horses”!

A lookout off the Cami de Cavalls trail down to a couple limestone coves, second of which is Cala Mitjana. The water is turquoise and the hill slopes are surrounded by olive trees and cypress

Have left the cool mountains of Andorra behind 🥵 Now on Menorca & hiked a segment of the Cami de Cavalls this morning to nice beaches.

Arrived to Andorra yesterday after a long travel Tues/Weds & got settled into the village. Set off this AM early for a hike up Casamanya. Only 5mi RT but quite steep.
