That's what you can do with unlimited funding. I live in a Reform constituency, and already receive these Reform funded local propaganda newspapers on a regular basis. Sadly, it's not very absorbent.

The damage this one man has brought upon the world is beyond belief. Now I see his offspring Eric being interviewed on Sky News, virtually foaming at the mouth about everything wrong with the UK - most of it demonstrably untrue. I hope we're not in for another generation of this madness.

As a very basic thing, we as citizens should not accept the presence of a private army of masked racist thugs on the streets of our towns... intimidating others and threatening to overthrow the state... There are some fairly obvious precedents for this stuff.

Richard Tice - "I think when it is a bit warm, let’s enjoy it." Yes, lets get the baked taters on the fire of your house burning down. These people are insane.

That's exactly the key to rooftop solar, or indeed any microgeneration. The comment was particularly addressing the "panels on roofs before building solar farms" brigade.

Paul @phelecpaul.bsky.social · 15/08/2026
I agree with that. Local batteries to store excess generation is the way rooftop solar should be utilised, though there are issues with public perception of large battery installations. Folk seem particularly receptive to campaigns against any sort of progress.

Paul @phelecpaul.bsky.social · 15/08/2026
The problem is not installing the panels, that's the easy bit. The problem is getting the power to the grid. The is currently no feasible way to export grid scale solar unless you are near HV grid infrastructure.

Absolutely spot on.

Paul @phelecpaul.bsky.social · 15/08/2026
It's not just the HV grid substations, which are quite substantial in themselves, it's the actual connection into the grid. I can't see pylons striding across every town & city being that popular, nor all the roads being dug up to install a secondary power network. The cost would astronomical.

Paul @phelecpaul.bsky.social · 15/08/2026
If course they aren't. They use a mixture of grid scale solar and micro generation, as we do - Google it. Solar covered parking with charging facilities is being built here, but as usual, we are years behind the French, and many other European countries. They're not grid scale projects though.

Paul @phelecpaul.bsky.social · 15/08/2026
It's the scale. Feed in from homes is fed onto DNO local networks, not the national grid. That power has to be used locally, it cannot be fed upwards on existing networks, many of which are already saturated. There's a good reason why grid scale solar is built near existing HV grid infrastructure.

Paul @phelecpaul.bsky.social · 15/08/2026
These installations work if the energy can be used locally, to power EV charging, factories, warehousing, etc.. However, as a grid scale project, there are great difficulties extracting surplus energy from the places these are likely to be built to the HV grid. It gets very expensive, and very ugly.

Wouldn't Vodafone have some recourse to act against Yusuf for propagating the implication that they are acting illegally? Damage to their commercial reputation? Lost customer revenues?

Their actions now will cast very long shadows, unnecessary deaths and disablement for many years to come. The anti-vaccine rhetoric will remain even longer in the less objective minds, not only putting at risk their own, but also herd immunity for those who cannot be vaccinated.

I thought it was rather indulgent, and being triumphantly told that the BBC doesn't show adverts, whilst watching one mega advert for the BBC, is just taking the piss. How much has this cost to produce?

He specifically states ’personal expenses', which he knows no MP can claim. He claims a substantial amount for the running of his constituency office, including staffing costs.

So finally we know what “Brexit benefit” actually means.. A £5million payment to Farage. Our country is now deeply divided, poorer, unhappier, less influential, less secure, less welcoming and less democratic… But Farage is a multimillionaire. What a fucking disgrace.

They obviously want to damage investment in the sector, now. Whilst we might find this morally repugnant, is any actual offence being committed when influencing investors? - not only interfering with a company's business plans, but actively frustrating government policy.

I had a brief exchange elsewhere with someone who was adamant that voting should be restricted not only to those born in the UK, but to those over 21 who are working - i.e. no vote for naturalised UK citizens, houseparents, anyone under 21, students, pensioners, sick, disabled or unemployed.
