So it turns out compiling stuff was way simpler than I thought, just had to not Overthink Everything. Compiled uxn from source to run natively on my Raspberry Pi, then bootstrapped the uxntal assembler, then wrote a little Hello World program in uxntal and assembled it. Very, very fun!

Affinity on Linux working surprisingly well. Only had one crash so far and that was due to me doing some really dumb shit. Reopened, and it loaded an incremental save from just before the crash, no issues.

Regrettably given up on Marathon for now. Decided to revisit @rossignol.bsky.social and co's 2017 opus The Signal From Tölva, which hits some surprisingly similar notes, and is really scratching the itch for a more ambient take on exploring a haunted alien planet in a post-human future.
