Watching an American tv show and saw the Trump commercial for the first time. WTF is wrong with the US?

If they were collaborating to do this with a foreign power, then tried and hung. Not even sure why its a debate.

If my property taxes went to supporting my municipality's services Im ok with that. Unfortunately 50% of it is siphoned off by the provincial government for use on everything except our municipal services.

How many frickin' gambling ads do I need to see in a day? Can't turn on the tv or radio and now they are showing up in my Inbox. Who is in power is benefitting from this 24/7 bombardment?

It doesn't matter what happens. The separatists are saying they won't respect the results and the rest of us won't trust the results. More manufactured chaos.

We need our own Canadian unit of measure for how long a right wing leader lasts. "Two Trusses" or "40 Scaramuccis" just doesn't work. To the Tod-cave!

The time has come to debate reinstating capital punishment for treason in Canada. There are people in this country openly and actively working with foreign countries to break us apart. #cdnpoli. #paradoxoftolerance

These are all definitely true. But elections are lost just as much as they are won - the downfall of the provincial Liberals (a powerhouse in the 90s) was that having better policies was all it took. No need for a ground game. Glad the NDP has taken the ALP lessons to heart.

What do you think of the 978 Tory votes? First by-election with no real organization behind them.

Advance turnout is an indicator of a good ground game something the UCP have had locked up for years. This tells me there were issues in the UCP campaign - couldn't activate volunteers, access previous lists ... or perhaps just a huge numpty was running the campaign.

We really need to get past the idea we are "negotiating a trade deal". We have a trade deal - we're negotiating the ransom to get the US to stop violating it. #cdnpoli

Nostalgically flying over all the countries agreed to the last time eastern Europe was divided up into spheres of influence by the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact? Interesting coincidence.

As I sent back my referendum ballots I was thinking about all the effort and whether the UCP government would honour the results. In the last referendum Albertans voted to keep daylight savings time - and the UCP have now abolished it. Answers that question. #abpoli

I’m in Shaw - I know you can’t read too much into it, but the NDP are winning the private lawn sign war 3 to 1. Don’t know if it’s a sign of shame, a poor UCP ground game or something bigger.

I would respectfully disagree on the retaliation - while Carney is making a list and checking it twice, Canadian premiers are doubling down on not stocking US liquor in provincial distribution centres. There are also other provincial purchases that could be halted without the federal gov't.

To the folks saying "turn off the taps" I appreciate the sentiment - however AB oil flows through the US to get to Ontario and Quebec refineries. It is currently not an option.

With the application of *literal* Smoot Hawley tariffs and an inevitable stock market collapse due to unhinged financial speculation and deregulation, we now have 2 of the 3 conditions that created the Great Depression. Gosh, good thing there aren't any water or land management issues... #cdnpoli

Canada's premiers are sitting down with Prime Minister Mark Carney on Thursday in Charlottetown, where they're hoping for more insight into how he plans to negotiate with U.S. President Donald Trump.

I see some online commentators are unhappy with Carney and that he is a “closet Conservative”. If you actually want to know what Liberal type he is may I introduce to an introductory Canadian History reader? Start with the Louis St. Laurent chapter then on to Lester B Pearson.

Is there any oversight and auditing *of the government* on this giveaway? She says there have been 800,000 applicants but all we know for sure is that $80 million will go out the door to someone, somewhere. Is it just another undercover slush fund?
