I'll say that after two years without Sm4sh Online, I've been more prone to the connection. I gained a loser mentality where I'll usually go into pockets or DQ out if it's just laggy enough. Kinda sucks I lost the tolerance, as I'll need that to play vs the specific players in the future.

Picked up Sm4sh again on 3DS and Wii U to terrorize the Pretendo community, met new people, and joined some tournaments for the whole summer. It's been fun, and I'll occasionally grind for some tournaments and some players specifically.

Post Diglett thoughts Using other water types feels more satisfying. Wailmer is just as spammable, but Staryu w/ Icy Wind is nice. Abra may be too much for the tier though. My theory is that it has too many good sets, and hard to stop while being able to cover majority of it's checks.

I've no regrets on how the meta has developed, because that's just how meta can be when pushed to the limits. Not like ADV LC will be a carbon copy of DPP LC w/o sitrus, as ADV LC has many unique traits, mechanically and mons selection that's so awesome <333

Imo, I'll try to stay in the tier even if Sitrus gets banned or not. However, I'll admit that removing Sitrus will affect my interest in the tier, as I loved how it could be simultaneously bulky and frail at any point. If I like the new meta, awesome. If not, well idk tbh. I love the community

So is it finally time to suspect/ban Sitrus Berry once and for all? It's hard because Sitrus Berry doesn't feel inherently unhealthy, but how it has been pushed has made the tier more difficult to be appealing. It's down to subjectiveness, but people have very mixed thoughts on the tier atm.

Banning Substitute would certainly answer lot of the problems, but just banning that move just feels absurd, especially we banned t-wave. Thief, Toxic or any of that is not an option as they've healthy aspects for the tier.

While the Sitrus + Thief mini game is something I personally enjoy, that move with Substitute is not appealing for both spectators and players. And it's not any easy/simple solution to answer it.

Substitute feels like it has been basically solved on how it's used on ADV LC, and IMO it's not really a positive thing, esp with Toxic/Thief or both moves combined as well. That move alone limits switch-in reactions and has a very narrowminded counterplay.

The last one is Sitrus Berry itself, and where its development has led right now. As much as I adore certain Sitrus interactions, I think it has created too many uninteractive, linear sequences that have nerfed reaction and reads. And that bothers me a lot.

What's annoying with this aspect is that some mons feel overtuned because Diglett's existence makes its checks hard to pull out w/o Trapinch. Examples are Wailmer's Water Spout and Sun Chlorophyll, and water mons or fire mons being trapped by Diglett.

The first one is Diglett's impact on the teambuilding, and how its restrained nature has led teams to be simplified like: Team with only one mon or non-weak to Diglett, or Trapinch + Diglett weak mons. There are some variations in there. But ultimately, this is how it feels in a nutshell

ADV LC has gone through huge developments after the Porygon ban, and I think it's been stabilized. But it's also been pushed where there are problems that will cause a huge impact on the tier.

With that said, I will enjoy taking a backseat from the tier. I'll still update the resources and keep myself updated. But I've lost the will to try competing to win, as that was never my intention to begin with, and I had nonstop tours where I could feel the burnout.
