10 pm Hurricane #Isaias losing steam now that it has moved onshore. Winds have come down from 105 at landfall , Cat 2, to 85 mph now. Life-Threatening Storm Surge continues along the coast.

Onshore flow from #Isaias has the storm surge up to 5 feet in Panama City as of 9:30 pm. Extremely dangerous.

Latest #Isaias Advisory has the winds down from 110 to 105 mph. A gust of 84 mph was just reported over Pensacola.

As the eyewall of #Isaias moves onshore... wind gusts are up to 70 mph in Pensacola. Once the eye moves over them, the winds will come down briefly, until they pick back up from the opposite direction. The rain appears to be done for them after that.

The onshore flow by St. George Island, Mexico Beach, & Panama City, is pushing up to4.35 feet of Gulf water inland. To west, the wind is pushing the water out. This will reverse once the eye moves onshore.

8 pm #Isaias Update: The eyewall is roughly 16 to 31 miles away, depending on location. This is the worst part. The center, or eye, is still 45 miles away. Once the eye moves on land, that's what NHC considers the hurricane to have made landfall. Winds down from 115 to 110 mph

6 pm #Isaias update: The center is roughly 60 miles away from the Panhandle, however the leading edge of the Eyewall (worst part) is under 50 miles away. It should move onshore later this evening.

#Isaias 6 pm Update: Remains a category 3 w 115 mph winds. Still on track to move onshore between Destin & Pensacola later this evening. The rain bands have been impacting the Panhandle since this afternoon.

Hurricane #Isaias 5 pm advisory (Issued Hourly Now) Weaker but still a Cat 3. Winds down from 120 to 115 mph. The center is South of Pensacola. Once the center moves onshore, NHC will consider that landfall. Heavy rain & winds have been impacting the area all afternoon.

#Isaias Update: Hurricanes can produce tornado swarms. Everything in yellow is a tornado watch. This means twisters are possible, while the red smaller areas, suggest a tornado has been spotted on the ground or detected by radar.

While the center of #Isaias will make landfall somewhere inside the cone w Hurricane force winds, impacts will be felt outside of it as well. Coastal areas in blue will still get Tropical Storm force winds, heavy rain and a storm surge.

4 pm #Isaias Advisory (Now released hourly) Maintains category 3 strength. 90 miles South of Pensacola. When the center moves onshore, that's when NHC considers it making landfall.

Latest radar suggests the Eyewall of #Isaias is roughly 70 miles South of the Panhandle. Tropical storm force winds are already impacting the area. The eyewall is a ring of destruction. Plenty of damage left in its wake wherever it goes ashore.

11 am Friday #Isaias Forecast Cone: 🔴 Models suggest it could maintain major hurricane intensity up until landfall tonight. 🔴 Official forecast keeps it Major just offshore the W Panhandle this evening 🔴Aircraft fixes indicate that Isaias has drifted a bit east of the previous forecast track.

NHC says: 🔴 "Regardless of its exact wind speed at landfall, Isaias will be a dangerous hurricane w significant storm surge, damaging winds, & flooding rains". 🔴It's wind field is also predicted to grow its impacts will extend well away from the center.

#Isaias Friday morning Forecast Cone: It has turned towards the NNE w a NW jog later today. It'll also pick up forward speed. Landfall is forecast to occur tonight or early Saturday. It could continue to intensify for the next 12 hours while it moves over very warm water.

Thursday Evening, there's plenty of moisture (green) to feed #Isaias, however, dry air is filtering in to the west. This could help weaken it before it makes landfall. We'll be monitoring.

One of the things we'll be monitoring from #Isaias, is where the Dirty Sector of the Storm will move ashore. Outside the eyewall, this is the worst part of the system, the NE quadrant. The westernmost Panhandle is looking at a moderate threat for tornados.

These are the #Isaias advisories in place from Florida's Panhandle west to Louisiana. The storm is relatively small and compact. Wherever the center goes ashore, that's where the worst of the storm will be felt.

5 pm Thursday Hurricane #Isaias update: It is stronger now at category 2 strength. Still forecast to impact the area between the westernmost Panhandle & Mobile Alabama to the west. Impacts will be felt far and wide outside the cone.

Hurricane #Isaias 11 am Thursday Update: Winds up from 80 to 85 now. Forecast to become a Category 2 later today. It remains on track to make landfall on the Gulf coast Friday night. The wind forecast is a bit lower as it appears shear may weaken it some before going ashore.

ISAIAS RAINFALL: 🔴Amounts of 3 to 7" with localized totals up to 10 from far SE Louisiana to the Panhandle. 🔴 1 to 3" with localized amounts up to 5, are possible over the SE as far north as the Tennessee Valley & the Carolinas.

8 am Thursday #Isaias Update: Intensity forecast continues to be tricky. Shear is not forecast to increase much the next 24 h, while Isaias keeps strengthening over warm waters. This should allow the storm to near major hurricane status as it nears landfall.

8 am #Isaias Close-Up Cone: The first image shows where the center of the storm should move ashore, the 2nd illustrates where winds over 40mph will happen. Impacts will be felt outside of the forecast track. The system could be very near major hurricane strength at landfall.

1 pm #Isaias Close-Up Cone. The center could make landfall between Panama City & Biloxi, Mississippi. While intensity as it moves ashore has come down from 110 mph to 105 mph...it could undergo rapid intensification. That area needs to monitor the progress of the storm carefully

11 pm Wednesday #Isaias Advisory: On the cusp of becoming a category 1 hurricane. Once it surpasses 74 mph it'll reach cat 1 status. May happen overnight.

While most of the oil & gas rigs in the Gulf Waters are west of Isaias' forecast track, there are still many in the projected cone of concern. They may be dealing with a possible major hurricane or close to it, by the end of the week.

8 pm #Isaias Forecast Cone: Models indicate is could become a hurricane as early as the overnight hours. Warm waters may have it reach cat 2 winds before landfall. By then, it will only be 1 mph hour shy of becoming a major hurricane. Lots to monitor.

Isaias Headlines 3 of 4 - Isaias will cause heavy rainfall to the central U.S. Gulf coast and much of the Southeast Friday into the weekend. Amounts of 3 to 6 inches, with localized totals up to 10 Flash and urban flooding, along with isolated river flooding, will be possible.
