24 hr Rain Totals ending at 9 pm Thursday. Key West sets a record. Many areas receiving over 2 inches. Several flood advisories were issued throughout the day. All have been canceled.

Soaking rain over Key West reached record levels. A new high mark was set this Thursday with over 3.50" inches. The old record was from 1943!

Heavy rain in September across Metropolitan Broward, lead to a NEW monthly record. The downpours also erased the drought across much of the county. Miami-Dade still a bit dry.

@NWSKeyWest issues a Street Flood Warning for standing water on roadways. Heavy rain has poured 3 - 5 inches over the area and another 1 to 2 are possible. Drive with extreme caution.

A Street Flood Advisory remains in place for the Lower Keys thru 5:45 pm. Around 2 inches of rain have come down and more is forecast. Drive with Care.

Nothing is there presently, but conditions are such that there's a less than 20% probability of a tropical system developing in highlighted area. NHC is not referencing this probability as of this moment. It's in a favorable area for organization for October. Again, nothing there

A batch of rain is moving over the Lower Keys. Several Marine Warnings have been issued and canceled but more are possible. The rain is moving north at around 15 mph.

In the Tropics: As of 5 pm, The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is no longer tracking Fay. The last advisory was issued. That leaves T.S. Hanna w 40 mph winds, forecast to weaken over the next 2 days.

Rain chances start to come down from 50%, to between 40% & 50% over the next 7 days. Probabilities will stay above typical thru Thursday. Lower after that, until they rise again by next Tuesday.

The area between Marathon & Key Largo has been seeing some moderate rainfall for about an hour. Accumulations range between .27 to .42". With the higher tide levels, even this amount may not be able to drain. It could lead to standing water on roadways. We'll be monitoring.

Hurricane Nolo near Hawaii is impacting the islands with Heavy rain, some gusty winds, and storm surge as of 11 pm. It is forecast to slide west away from land areas and then head north over open waters.

Dangerous Category 5 Hurricane Polo, in the Eastern Pacific has its wind speeds come down from 180 to 175 mph at 11 pm. Still forecast to make landfall by Baja California on Monday, possibly still as a Major Storm.

11 pm Advisories on Tropical Storms Fay & Gonzalo. The Cape Verde Islands are getting some wind and rain, but the worst is offshore as Gonzalo has weakened. All advisories have been discontinued there. Fay is holding its own w 50 mph winds.

A full moon peaks on Saturday. This extra gravity pull on the oceans will make for "extra high", high tides known as King Tides. The next times of high tides are presented here. The elevated water values may cause some minor coastal flooding in low-lying areas.

Brand NEW as of 11 pm: Tropical Storm #Gonzalo is born in the Far Eastern Atlantic Ocean. It'll be a big rain event for the Islands, along with gusty winds and coastal surge. Forecasts now call for it to remain thru early next week.

A shower in the distance, seen from our roofcam, is sitting over South Miami. Heavier rain is crossing over Key Biscayne. This is all fast moving and should be done shortly.

After a weak front moves over South Florida tonight, it should clear out most of the rain we've had of late. Typical rain chances stand at 50% - it'll be below that. Average high now is 88°, and that's where we'll be. However, we should see less humidity, so it'll feel nice.

After the passage of a weak front this Thursday evening, rain chances will drop below typical probabilities. That'll remain in place thru Tuesday. By the middle of next week, models are forecasting the return of a wet pattern.

In the Eastern Pacific, Hurricane Polo is a dangerous system with 155 mph winds just offshore Mexico. It'll get close to Coastal areas with the worst over water but eventually, it's forecast to go ashore by Baja California.

WED 8 PM TROPICS UPDATE: Low pressure off the W. Coast of Africa, could become a short-lived depression on Thursday or Friday while it moves NNW. However, strong upper-level winds should end the opportunity for development by the weekend. Chances for Organization stand at 60%.
