The true happiness divide isn't the chasm between the city & rural areas, but the gulf within #city gates. @crhistianjoel.bsky.social, @pfaggy.bsky.social & Veneri argue in @urbanstudiesjournal.com we are consumed by losing the race against our neighbours, not a rival city. doi.org/10.1177/0042...

The key chart right now: Usually US economic pain is cushioned by falling bond yields and a strengthening dollar, which mean lower interest rates and more spending power for consumers. This time we’re seeing the opposite, meaning the pain will be amplified.

Many neurodiverse people discovered success w/ remote work as it reduced distractions. Disclosure is often not safe as ppl downplay the condition in a way they would never do w/ a physical one. Flexibility is good for all workers, esp neurodivergent people. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

In today's Avvenire, our PhD Student, Thea Jansen, talks about her research that shows remote work boosts pregnancy planning. Her paper shows that couples are 40% more likely to plan for a baby when women work remotely while men work on-site. When roles reverse, the increase drops to 36%.
