"...The real craft of comics is designing the invisible." — Yiqi Zhang #booksky #drawntoextinction #comics #art #comicsky trainor.fyi/books/drawn
A striking, chaotic comic-style cover layered with overlapping hand-drawn panels, showing fragmented faces, sketchbook pages, and inked figures in a mix of rough linework and vivid colour. Fluorescent yellow horizontal bands slice across the entire image like warning tape, partially obscuring the artwork beneath. Over this, bold, blocky black typography reading “Drawn to Extinction” runs vertically and dominates the composition, creating a sense of disruption and tension. The background feels like a collage of analogue craft under pressure, with visible pencil marks, notes, and expressive character art clashing against the harsh digital overlays, evoking the collision between human creativity and machine generation.

We had two places in Yeovil where I grew up that I’d love to go back to. Both gone now. Bulldozed. Acorn Records where I learned I loved music. Rainbow Video where we used to rent out VHS. It was huge and easily an hour of happy browsing to pick something as a treat.

There was a local bar in my hometown, they played mostly rock/metal, it was called Extase and it's where I went with friends out every weekend for like 10 years, drank beer, danced, met my wife there, had our first kiss there...good times... Anyways it closed and is a restaurant now...c'est la vie.

I need 2 shops to come back:- FC Parker and the sandwich shop opposite the Virgin Megastore. Both in Cardiff, FC was were I first found my love for D&D and I've never found a better mixed cheese sandwich since that deli closed.

Right then — found a till receipt from a shop that closed years ago and sat down about it. Fond one for today: which long-gone place would you walk into tomorrow if you could 🏚 — the corner shop, a chippy, a video rental with the carpet smell and all? #goneplaces

what a fantastic first page! I've been there too. My dad was a difficult man but comics, sci fi and fantasy novels, progressive rock and punk gave us something to bond over. He took me to my first comic shop and to the old Westminster Hall comic marts. On the same day bought me Dungeons & Dragons

Awake before the alarm, which never feels like a win but here we are. Slow one for today: which window have you loved most 🪟 — not the best view, just the one you kept standing at? Someone else's kitchen, a train seat, a flat you only rented a year. #windowsiview

A Happy #DayOfDredd to all who celebrate.
The album cover for 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' by The Beatles, except the Fab Four and their cardboard friends have been replaced by Judge Dredd and his impressive gallery of allies and enemies. No, I'm not going to name all of them, and yes, while it is quite possible that the character you really like isn't in there, I make no apology for their absence. Batman, Predator, Alien and The Biker Mice From Mars are all missing because I wanted this to be a tribute to Rebellion.
