Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 16/09/2026I thought my dad was out of touch when I was a kid, told myself I'd never be so disconnected from the Zeitgeist. Now I'm 37 with a kid and I look at my Bluesky feed or talk to someone under 25 and realise that I am become dad, oblivious to all. 000
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 16/09/2026I like both of these equally. I think Cassiterite just edges it for me though. 020
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Hafnon is a cool name, and I love a good pegmatite. It gets my vote today. 042
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Monazite is cool, yes. But Andalusite makes me remember (fondly, although I hated it at the time) the hours spent staring down a microscope in the mineralogy lab at university. I was so, so slow at drawing the thin sections. 032
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 06/09/2026I'm going for Asagiite today. I love quartz, we all do, but it's time to show some love to the minerals that we don't see everywhere! 082
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 05/09/2026I've started a fun Football Manager 26 save with the team from a village near me. They're in step 5 of non league (so tier 9 of the English pyramid) For all its flaws, I've had a good time with FM26. 27 is coming so I've had some time to think about 26. 100
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 05/09/2026No story behind today's vote. No rambling anecdote. I chose Cuprite because it's pretty. 010
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 04/09/2026Today's vote is Vesuvianite. My wife and I went around Italy on our honeymoon, so Vesuvius brings back fond memories of a boat ride across the Bay of Naples back to Sorrento with Mt. Vesuvius looming. 041
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Voting Anorthite here. At university we had to give a presentation on a mineral and my friend and I had Anorthite. One of our slides was titled simply "But what about The Moon?" 092
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 01/09/2026Mineral Cup 2026 is here! Truly the most wonderful time of the year. I voted for Azurite today as it took me back to a university field trip in Southern Spain where we pulled over and wandered around an old quarry littered with the stuff. It's quite beautiful. I have a chunk of it somewhere. 142
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 28/08/2026Just seen a kid with a t shirt that said "NAPLES ITALIA" and it's bothered me more than it should have. 000

Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 26/08/2026The breakup of Yugoslavia, especially the siege of Sarajevo. I went with a friend to Bosnia last year because I have been fascinated by the country since then. It's beautiful, the people are kind. 000
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 19/08/2026Far Cry 5. I feel like there are enough people who've kept a low profile/avoided the Peggies that I could probably survive? 000
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Describe your music taste with three artists, no genres. Slayer Phoebe Bridgers My Chemical Romance 010
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Adapt Riftwar. If I had to be more specific simply for time reasons, I'd choose the Empire Trilogy because I love Mara. 000

Specifically, how the commercial flop drove innovation at Wētā, paved the way for The Lord of the Rings, and was just a whole lot of fun to make. 56939
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 12/07/2026All the talk about the Falklands now, that doesn't matter, it's absolutely nothing on the Hand of God. 000
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 29/05/2026Authoritarians are obsessed with gold, I would imagine for the status of it rather than the aesthetic. Because coating things in gold makes them look tacky as hell. 000
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 28/05/2026I sit in the library. I count people coming through the door. Person number 37 is selected. We cross the car park to the office. I have a room where sits artist. This person is now their muse. I commission a lifetime of works based on them. Both are rewarded handsomely. The artist is bloody awful. 000
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 23/05/2026I suppose this makes sense as I grew up Anglican and I'm married to an Irish Catholic, and all my religious friends seem to be Catholic too. The vibes have clearly rubbed off on me. 010

Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 30/11/2025Still alive. Have started my MSc dissertation, been to Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. My wife and I are expecting our first kiddo in April. The DIY continues. Have built a shed and am currently boarding the loft. In other words, it's all go here. 040
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 30/11/2025I now love the hire. I wanted Ben Johnson as I thought he'd do incredible things with Drake Maye (he would have done) but Vrabel feels like the perfect coach for this Pats team. I don't think we'll win the Super Bowl, but it's nice to feel like there is a plan for the first time in years. 000
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 17/07/2025Been away for a few months. Bought a house, been to Italy, done some stuff, seen some stuff. Basically staying mostly off social media because I don't really have a lot to add and it is better for my mental health. Apparently there's video and verification here now? 030
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 07/02/2025Incredibly disappointed but quite relieved in a way the SI and Sega have made the decision to delay FM25. Makes sense to skip to a game that hopefully works but have it in November. We still have 24, it works, and I've got a couple of saves I wasn't quite done with yet. 120
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 12/01/2025I don't hate the hire, I don't love the hire. I'm entirely whelmed by this. 000
Pete @petetjh.bsky.social · 05/01/2025I don't think it's a surprise Mayo was fired. I think it'll be Vrabel who succeeds him and I think he'll be okay ish. 020
