Thanks to all who joined us today at the 207th anniversary of the Peterloo Massacre, to honour the 18 who lost their lives in the struggle for democracy in 1819. There were plenty of wreaths - our own, the council's, and the TUC's - plus many flowers laid beside the names of those who died. (1/3)

The People's History Museum in Manchester has acquired a rare jug with a map of the Peterloo Massacre. It's on display from 1 August. If you're coming to the annual commemoration (Sunday 16 August 1pm at the Peterloo Memorial) it's a ten-minute walk to the @phm.org.uk to see the jug! #Peterloo2026
A 19th-century white jug, with a red and green floral pattern around the rim. The body of the jug shows a map of the streets around St Peter's Field, with a numbered key identifying the sites associated with the Peterloo Massacre.
An inscription above the map reads "A PLAN of the GROUND on which the REFORMERS met at MANCHESTER on MONDAY the 16 AUGUST 1819. And which proved so fatal to many."
