Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 14/10/2026It’s such a hard decision, but our experience is that you will know when it is time. Trust yourself to know what is best. ❤️ 030
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 13/10/2026Just takes 25 or 30 years of practice, IME. Maybe they’ll get there eventually. 000
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Really love the years when the literature Nobel is announced and everyone is happy about it. My Folio copy of “If Not, Winter” is one of my most prized possessions. I pick it up and try to just bathe in the strangeness a few times a year and I think it kind of resets my brain a little. 000
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 26/09/2026This is what human beings do, have done forever and ever. It’s maybe the best thing we do. 010
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Will Lee actually died, and his friends had to (got to!) go through their grief about it, help fictional Big Bird go through his grief about it, show real children who had a relationship with Will’s fictional character how to go through it, and make a piece of art about death that holds up. 111
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I've always been at small fire parishes: little paper scraps and shavings in a pie plate or something. It would go out on its own (hopefully after the paschal candle was lit but not always) and a trusty parishioner would make sure it was cool and toss it. 030
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I'm enough of an urbanist to have to clear my throat like this before whining about traffic in Halifax this morning, but also: Thank goodness I've made it through all that and arrived at the only place on earth my laptop works. 020
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Super normal imo. I think the AirPods are totally fine. Looks great! 010
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Been told I should place “3 or 4” books on the various side tables in our house, artfully, so as to create a pleasing mood in persons who might wish to purchase my house. Constructing the perfect stack for each environment is now my entire personality. 031
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Mina's got me weeping at how hard r/bald comes out for people with chemo-related hair loss. Not how I thought my afternoon was going to play out. 010
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Extremely same here. "How hard would it be to take out this janky second kitchen?" is one of the big questions we keep having to answer. 020
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 10/09/2026We're in the market right now and it's been really surprising how many places in our price range seem to have a basement suite of some kind. We do not in any way wish to become landlords but you can see how it might happen kind of accidentally. 220
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 28/08/2026Wife and I playing stump the band at reciting children’s books from memory. She’s ahead, but I just ran through Peepo perfectly and that feels like a moral victory. 010

Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 26/08/2026I played this actual machine at the Propeller Arcade a couple years ago (niche Halifax post I suppose). 110
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 24/08/2026Presumably the Germans have a word for the feeling you get when your baby discovers that they can reach objects on a surface that used to be too high. 031
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Someday iphone will figure out not to autocorrect my son's name to "high," right? 000
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 19/08/2026My own biblical literacy is, if I may, quite strong and it's a huge source of joy for me in literature and in life. I got it from unhealthy religious communities in my late teens/early 20s which I do not recommend, and do not think you can replace with 3 weeks in grade 11 English. It's a pickle. 130

Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 30/07/2026You know you’ve reached northern New Brunswick when the gps hits you with the ol’ “continue straight for three hundred and fifty four kilometers.” 170
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 30/07/2026They fill such a nice seasonal gap as our hummingbirds fledge that I can’t completely write them off. But the last occupants of our house planted nothing but and they’re so monotonous. 010
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 25/07/2026I have tickets to see The Odyssey in 70mm in approximately 3 weeks, so I will catch up with all of your thoughts then thx. (Actually going to be our first outing sans bebé. Pray for us, lol) 030
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 23/07/2026I would eat these for sure. Looks from here like just the skin that’s really burnt and I bet the worst of that would peel off if you need it to. Worst case scenario chicken salad sandwich. 030
Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 23/07/2026The greatest archetype of a Wile E Coyote sketch is where you can know exactly what is going to happen to him from the very first frame, but because the sketch is only 12 seconds long your brain hasn't quite caught up before he hits the canyon floor. 000

Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 10/07/2026Of course people in Northern communities, especially in winter, struggle with vitamin D deficiency. It’s very important to me, therefore, that everyone knows about the Yukon’s public health campaign on that front. Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 09/07/2026Blockbuster whatever. The good movie place in my hometown was an appliance shop whose proprietor just loved movies and kept a big rental section next to the dryers and stoves. Huge variety, historical selections, and never charged late fees because they didn't have a computer to track them. RIP. 110

Peter @peterlamey.bsky.social · 24/06/2026When I moved back to Halifax from school in 2014 a group of kids from my building used to play cricket in the courtyard and it really made the place feel like a community. I’m delighted to see how much it’s grown since, and can’t wait to see a proper pitch in the city. 040
