Perhaps a far better entry for #WeekOForOpulent #AlphabetChallenge, this Bugatti was given to the future Shah of Iran by the French Government. (Who among us hasn't got a Bugatti from the French government, I ask you?) 1939 Bugatti Type 57C Cabriolet

Front view of an art deco black Bugatti that has such a high shine it appears to have a silver chassis. The round headlights are fitted with an upside-down teardrop grille. The car has a low windshield and wide fenders. It is all that is vintage and gorgeous.

#AlphabetChallenge #WeekOforOpulent It's one Bugatti, Michael, what could it cost? Ten Dollars? 1936 Bugatti 57G "tank". Winner at Le Mans, hidden from the Nazis, only one of its kind in existence.

A low, very rounded, two tone blue Bugatti with no windshield, no roof. As a racing Bugatti, certainly not the most opulent one but it's a Bugatti! And the only one of its kind in existence.

I discovered that I don't have many opulence photos. But there are a few. This may seem like a stately home, but it is in fact the building I worked in, from 2010 to 2017. I was a programmer. My friends called me Sir Codealot. 😁 #AlphabetChallenge #WeekOforOpulent

A symmetric castle, in 18th century style. The towers and the moat suggest that it dates back further than that, and indeed, it was already there in ca. 1310.
It's called Kasteel Nederhorst.

Last week I took this photo of the lake at Compton Verney in Warwickshire. In the distance are hills covered with trees and a bridge crossing the lake. Cedar trees are on both sides of the lake. Reflections of the bridge and trees are on the water. A bright green lawn is on the right
Sadly Brian Pattern died last week. He was one of my favourite poets and part of the Liverpool Poets with Roger McGough and Adrian Henri. They came to prominence in the 60s. I was lucky to see the Liverpool Poets in the 70s and saw Brian Pattern on his own reading his poems when I was at university. He had the most wonderful lilting Liverpool accent. His poems are full of the pain, anguish and beauty of love.
