Born the year WWII ended. Lived through an era of optimism when you could wake up in the morning and be hopeful about the day. Now saddened by the gratuitous acts of self harm inflicted upon future generations by the gross incompetence of our Politicians

Is that why Putin has ordered the removal of US bombers from UK Fairfield Airbase.

This was not an accident it is a consequence of crass morally bankrupt and corrupt gun laws.

What triumph is it a monument to. Bay of Pigs, Operation Mongoose. Ignominious withdrawal after ceasefire in Korea. Ignominious withdrawal from Vietnam, and S. American adventures. Failure in Libya Ignominious withdrawal from Iraq, Afghanistan next Iran. Support for genocide. Just asking

Apart from all of the other responses I think the 2 stand out moments were when Trump ducked and looked terrified when the plane flew over and then when Xi drove off leaving Trump looking bewildered on the runway.

I don’t give a cuss about what America’s done to itself and I’m sick and tired hearing Americans whining about the cost of diesel and peanut butter. I care what Americans are inflicting on the world, we are now paying over $10 a gallon equivalent in the UK more important people are being killed.

Trump has a unique ability, he can, like no one in history unite people from diverse backgrounds. You have people on the streets of Tehran and the USA uniting in protest against Trump.

Actually Parliament voted to remain in the European Union by 75%. The referendum was called anyway and clearly Cameron didn’t think the country would be so stupid that 37% of the electorate would vote leave.

America was British during the Biden Administration and Trump gained independence.

Google Al Jazeera Neturei Karta opposing Zionism. There’s a video.

I missed the beginning of the documentary but I think it might have been called. Neturei Karta : Opposing Zionism. It describes the efforts of NK and its Ultra Orthodox Jewish Leader Mosh Hirsh to bring peace to the region through dialogue with the Palestinians led by Yassah Arafat. Must watch.

Watched a documentary about Palestine/ Israel in the 1980’s which showed that many Jews, Rabbis and Palestinians were trying to find a mutually beneficial solution in the region where all faiths could live together in peace and harmony. The Rabbis and Jews were attacked and killed by Zionists.

If confirmation were needed that the film/documentary references accurately the events, reality and horrors taking place in Gaza and beyond then the reaction of the Netanyahu Government and its supporters provide all you need.

At last someone speaks the truth. People are dying in their thousands worldwide because of Americans policies You’ve set the world on fire and all you can think of is the price of peanut butter.

Peter Horne @peterhorne.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
I don’t give a tinkers cuss about what America’s doing to itself. Whining about $6 a gallon when you caused diesel to cost $10+ in Europe. You moan about the cost of peanut butter but don’t care about the thousands of families dying in Ukraine, Palestine, Iran whose deaths you caused Shame on you

Mark Carney’s address to the European Union in Strasbourg today should be required listening for everyone in the United Kingdom and USA.

I completely despair. The Worlds despotic regimes and malignant criminals have been granted by the American voters a 4 year window with 2 years left to achieve their vile and evil agenda. Trump fiddles while the World burns and Congress and Americans do nothing.

You are right but it is for the Government to ask the question which they appear reluctant to do. A poll is not an instruction to Government but if a main Party put it into a Manifesto and won then it would be. Or as I suggest a Free vote in Parliament in the meantime. Why are they reluctant.
010
Peter Horne @peterhorne.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
So why is the Government so afraid to put it to a Free Vote in Parliament. Simple Question. Should we have a Referendum to Confirm or Reject the Advisory Referendum in 2016.

I’m sure that the crypto billionaires who contribute no more to the welfare of the country than a bookmaker and shuffle off to tax havens are contributing to Reform because they are deeply concerned about less fortunate people and want nothing in return. Oops there goes that flying pig again.

Just like Korea where there is still only a ceasefire, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc Trumps Iranian war on behalf of Netanyahu will only end when a future USA President orders an Ignominious withdrawal.
010
Peter Horne @peterhorne.bsky.social · 11/09/2026
In the UK diesel is now $10.50 a US gallon and it’s all your fault so don’t whine because your President has increased the price to $6. Presumably we have to wait for a President to order an ignominious retreat before things get back to some semblance of normality.

The Republicans in the White House and the House are complicit in sustaining this madman in office and as such should be impeached. They know that he is mentally unfit to hold office and yet they do nothing. I no longer care what America is doing to itself but do care about the rest of the World

Growth built on sand is not what we should be looking for. After the turmoil of recent years I would like to see a period of sustainable consolidation. Because of the the uncertainty in UK Politics since Brexit we have one of the lowest reinvestment rates as a percentage of GDP in the G7.

American “adults” will have to join the queue behind Trump’s Construction Contractors.
000
Peter Horne @peterhorne.bsky.social · 10/09/2026
Those who are enabling Trump are guilty of keeping in office a man who is clearly insane. Vance etc know they are covering up Trump’s insanity and are complicit. A madman will not admit it and it’s those who are nearest who have the responsibility to protect the people and the Nation.

Peter Horne @peterhorne.bsky.social · 10/09/2026
It will cost nothing. He will treat the American people like he treated his construction contractors. Nobody will receive a payment and he will walk away saying sue me.

Not wishing to generalise but might it be a fair conclusion that non UK tax payers wishing to financially support UK Political Parties are not doing so for the benefit of country and its citizens.

🎯 by @ellabaron.bsky.social The abuse directed towards RNLI volunteers is horrendous. Solidarity with RNLI volunteers. They are doing incredible work.

Can’t imagine a bigger booster for donations and support for the RNLI. Lest we have forgotten what a fabulous privately funded essential service operated by selfless volunteers we have had a timely reminder. They are there for us everyday and We should express our gratitude to the RNLI every day.

Take a stupid, privileged, indulged child, fill him with a sense of entitlement then buy him an elite education and you get a stupid privileged, indulged adult with a sense of entitlement with an elite education.

Israel have made it clear that they intend to ethnically cleanse the lands that they believe is theirs. Anyone including the Chief Rabbi and Jews worldwide who condone the slaughter of families and genocide are complicit and should be condemned. This is nothing to do with Anti semitism.

Israeli border spotters warned about the attack for months and were told to shut up or face arrest. IDF/MOSAD know anytime anyone sneezes in the region and also in the White House. Netanyahu needed an excuse to sabotage Negotiations in Saudi about a two state solution. He exacerbated the attack

There’s still a few hours to go but challengers on BBC Any Answers phone in. 1. I don’t care if he gets his money from Al Qaida as long he stops the immigrants. 9/11 memorial day next week. 2. Speech delayed one hour because his life was threatened. Sounded like a Little League Ketchup moment

Can’t believe anyone still thinks Farage wants to be PM. A job that requires at least 18 hours a day 7 days a week attention under scrutiny for a salary equal to what he earns in a few days or minutes when he gets a bung. The By-election was a ploy to lose and avoid scrutiny. All is backfiring

Peter Horne @peterhorne.bsky.social · 04/09/2026
Absolutely, Farage has no interest in being PM and his ploy to resign and have a by-election backfired. I’m sure he wanted to lose to one of the main parties, claim an establishment stitch up and avoid the Parliamentary investigation into the £5 million bung. It’s all going wrong for him.

The funniest bit of The Farage speech is where he says that when he is PM parliament will sit 24 hours a day 6 days a week to get legislation passed. This from the individual who had the second worst attendance record in The European Parliament, and is an absentee MP in Westminster and Clacton

Foreign Donor pledged money, I accepted the donation, Donor didn’t transfer the money. I didn’t receive any money so I’ve done nothing wrong. Nothing to see here Guv. Nathan Gill is in jail for repeating pro Russian propaganda for cash. Farage did same on Russia Today for cash and is an MP?

In the full documentary, when they were discussing how to legitimise the “Donation” the “American donor” is heard to say that “you people know how to spend my money”, Farage interrupted saying “you get bang for your buck” and “as you know I’m a massive Americanophile”. Where is the ambiguity
