Used as an example of perfect timing, the James Burke Space shuttle launch video. Turns out nobody in the room had heard of a space shuttle, let alone of James Burke :-( #ifeelold

It could be argued that the planning process would work more smoothly and planning law would be applied more consistently if councillors were removed from it completely. Fewer appeals, too.

There's nothing I enjoy more than a controversial Wordle...got it on the last try. I agree, highly controversial....

There's a TV ad for TikTok that shows a 'science influencer' making a video about wiring a 13A plug. That's science?

Data protection. You also probably have to register separately for parking permits or garden waste collections. The Council holds only enough data in any business area to deliver the service you sign up for and can't share it with another.

They voted for Wagner on the X Factor and Ann Widdecombe on Strictly. Binface is definitely in with a shout.

These next few weeks are going to be hilarious. TV outlets will have to give Farage and Binface equal coverage, Binface can say pretty much what he likes and Farage will have to counter it.

This weekend has already been dubbed 'put stuff in the loft' weekend. 2 students back from uni with boxes full of stuff they probably won't ever need again but you never know.

It used to sound daft when quiz hosts asked 'who, at the time of recording, is the current prime minister'. Now it's essential context-setting for the catch-up audience.

Not surprised to note that the speculation that the man who threw the boy into the crocodile enclosure was Somali has, now police have confirmed he is white British, immediately pivoted to speculation that the carers must be immigrants. Desperate to find a non-white to blame. Zoo keepers next?

I doubt Gates has time to dedicate to the planning of the Oxford congestion charge. It limits free passage of traffic across the city, but via the ring road you can still get anywhere without hindrance. Income from it is paying for park & ride and key-worker bus travel. How very communist!

It really is nonsense. They produce a big heavy book of guidance which admits that when it comes down to it, the attribute they've chosen to hang the whole thing on is unprovable and service providers have to wing it.

When it's good, Labour's ground game is great. I was part of it in Reading for several years, including running a team of GOTVers on the day in GE2019 where we put on 6k votes. They've just lost 2 key council seats to Green, though, which suggests a good ground game isn't enough.

It depends on what 'final outcome' means. It's arguable that not only are the findings private to the subject and the sponsoring department, so are any risk mitigations that are required to address any adverse findings. So FCDO carries the can.
