Been a while since I actually posted something I drew here, but I have a 2nd sona now! I still have to work on his design a bit, but in the meantime, meet Provolone!

A fullbody pencil drawing of a goat sona with fluff around their neck. He has one hand on his hip, and they have a naturally angrier looking expression.

Two expression drawings of my sonas, done in pencil.

A drawing of Provolone trying to drive one of those plastic foot pedal cars that kids use. He barely fits in the car.

A pen drawing of Provolone playing sudoku. They are wearing small glasses and thinking about the puzzle.

Trying to get myself set up in time for ArtFight this year, so I made a reference sheet for my sona!

A reference sheet for a cat fursona named Pesto, featuring a front and side view of the character. The text reads: "Pesto, he/they, 5'0" (152cm), outfit can vary, casual and outdoors".

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

Also, a bonus silly doodle I made last night after finishing my brush week work for the day.

A pencil drawing of my sona sitting on the ground with their right leg bent, wearing a shirt with a heart on it. They have their eyes closed, and there are music notes to the side of them. Above them is text with an arrow pointing to them, which reads "listening to Undertale OST".

Haven't drawn my sona with their tail a single time until now, there's a very high chance they don't like me for this one.

A pencil sketch on the back of a sudoku puzzle, featuring my sona angrily looking at me (a generic human shape with the word "me" written on the face) with their arms crossed. Below me is text reading "forgot to add the tail immediately when drawing (will forget again)", as well as an arrow pointing to me. I am nervously sweating and rubbing the back of my head.

A screenshot from Webfishing, showing that my webfisher very much has a tail.

I'm begging any artists still using Twitter claiming it's integral to their work to just leave. It's been revealed the site works off a made up "credit score" from hell and punishes you for posting like a normal human being. Abandon Twitter for good. It's time. It's been time.

A quoted tweet from a user named Sam that reads: "How Twitter is rigged
Type in all caps because you're excited? Lowers your reputation. Include links? Your score goes down. It's like the Credit Score system from Hell.
And given Cisgender is treated as a slur & MAGA boosted, you can guess what's categorized as 'offensive'"

The tweet they quoted is from user SADIQ and reads:
"Tweepcred is X's reputation system
Based on your behavior, you get a tweepcred score
It determines your reach
Break the algo rules, you score goes down and your reach disappears
What are the rules of the X algo tho? Glad you asked."

SADIQ includes a photo of Twitter's algorithm code that calculates a user's reputation.

SADIQ continues:
"Post 'offensive text'? 80% reach reduction
Offensive username? 80% reach reduction
All caps tweet? That's seen as 'shouting. Major penalization.
Include links? Yup, penalized"

So my webfisher has slowly become an actual sona for me, and I've just been finding opportunities to draw them whenever. Here's a some doodles I've done of them recently!

A pencil sketch of an anthropomorphic cat on the back of a sudoku puzzle. The cat has a spot on their left eye, and is wearing a beanie, solid shirt and pants, and a striped jacket. They are giving a thumbs up with one hand and saying "Can do!". The solution to the sudoku puzzle is mostly visible in the bottom left.

A digital sketch of the same cat, dressed as a mail carrier. They are looking very pleased, standing with their hands on their hips. There are a few sparkles to the left of their head.

Another pencil sketch of the same cat. They are wearing a shirt with many pockets, pants, and boots, as well as a flower on their head and a small pouch. They are falling forward, dropping a pear to their right.

Another pencil sketch of the same cat. They are half visible standing in a box, looking disgustedly at a phone in their hand. Above the box, the words "Live Pesto Reaction" are written.

Pencil drawings of both Metapod and Butterfree, with text to the left saying "Peanut, Hasty, Good endurance".

Drew my webfisher again, but since I've been replaying Zelda 1 recently, I felt like drawing them with Link's outfit.

Several pencil drawings of my webfishing cat character in the outfit of Link from the Legend of Zelda series. On the left, they are holding a small sword in their right hand, confidently pointing it to the side with their other hand on their hip. In the top right, they are wearing a large cape and flying horizontally with their arms stretched forwards. At the bottom, they are sitting playing a recorder poorly. Above this drawing is the text "cannot music", along with an arrow pointing to them.

I've been drawing my webfishing guy recently while watching art streams, and it's been fun trying to stylize them a little bit.

A screenshot of a Webfishing cat character. The cat is light red with a dark red spot on its left eye. They are wearing a black shirt with a sunset graphic, an open red flannel overshirt, dark purple pants, and a black beanie. They are holding a black and red fishing rod.

Pencil sketches of the same Webfishing cat character. The paper includes test drawings of the in-game design, mouth expressions, ear shapes, and eye designs. One completed sketch is a full facial expression, while another features a small version of the cat looking up with big, wet eyes.

A full-body pencil sketch of the same cat character. The cat is holding a fishing rod, looking up in awe at a sparkling fish that they have caught. They are standing on their left leg, leaning back with their right leg raised into the air slightly.
