Kelly Thompson has a Zatanna spinoff idea and DC hasn't jumped on it. Marvel learned this the hard way with Ultimate Team-Up - when something's hot the instinct is to flood it, and then you're ignoring your own continuity a year later. Being deliberate is why Absolute still works two years in.

Marvel's going compact, bundling, stacking retailer incentives and building Midnights as big as they can. Nobody's complacent, everybody's pushing creators and helping retailers move books. Now I want to see Image climb, and Mad Cave, and Dark Horse, and Ignition. More competition, more stories.

Following up on the manga question - ICv2 reported that Manga Spot, a manga-focused store, made room for Western comics because their customers were already crossing over. Absolute Batman beside Chainsaw Man. TMNT beside One Piece.

NPR interviewed a comic shop owner in Lima, Ohio about how tariffs have gutted his toy sales. Tariffs are bad, full stop, and I'm Canadian so trust me, I've heard enough about them. It's still one of his better years. Because comics are carrying the store. When's the last time you heard THAT?
