This is why my design systems are centered on CSS, which has evolved but hasn’t been replaced in 30 years. Our design tools and frontend frameworks change every few years, but with a solid, bespoke CSS framework supporting your system, devs don’t even have to write CSS and it works with any stack.

For me, a more useful separation is at what point are we making product decisions vs system decisions. Typically I find when you get into “organisms,” these are things the system should not be responsible for. The system should provide everything needed to compose more complex product features.

Makes me sad when people stop maintaining personal websites for the reason that AI will scrape it. Bad people might visit it but that wasn't reason to stop. Make great stuff and share it. Killing your site hurts people more that it hurts AI, and keeping it benefits people more than it benefits AI.
