Finally happened. That contract extension he signed (which was a shock even then) means he gets to take a heftier payment to vacate the seat too. Expect Lawson to be announced soon, but really I wanted Yuki to get the recognition he deserves and a shot in a top team.

This is a ridiculous argument - The drivers make the BASIC request that the stewarding be consistent, and he comes back with a financial issue? How much do the teams and drivers pay the FIA to be allowed to compete in Formula 1 again? Do the current stewards not get paid? Ben has to go now, please.

For clarity, the penalty itself is consistent with this offence. BUT: - Were there mitigating circumstances, the sort of mitigating circumstances every other penalty gets washed down with? A few. - Did the decision need to take 20 laps or was that for maximum detrimental effect?

Have the FIA ever given a 1 place penalty before? Hate these "guilty, but" decisions because it should be one or the other. The wording of the document makes it pretty clear that George Russell effectively "dived" to get Verstappen penalised, bad precedent set.
