For what it’s worth, they DO install VLC as the default media player. So, they’ve got that going for them.

Work IT just sent out an email saying “Stop clicking on web ads and pop ups” with info about fake download/error buttons, etc. I (not-IT) want to just tell them “You either deploy adblockers or you deploy malware” but will probably have to find a gentler way to do so.

I was also against Lost when it came out, but then started around S3 from peer pressure. It was quite good for its time, but I feel a lot of that “good” came from wondering what was next alongside friends. I don’t know how it would hold up now, 20 years later.

Yep. The first ever time it has been lower than the launch price of $20

Perrsun @perrsun.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

This is the first time since 2018 that the price has been lower than the $20 it launched at.

Price history screenshot from SteamDB. Price was 20 at launch, went to 30 in 2019, went back to 20 Aug 2026, first time on sale is Sept 2026

I second the recommendation for Project Hail Mary. Very good use of flashbacks/forwards to tell the story.

I skipped the original Xbox but I got a 360 when Assassin’s Creed came out. It just looked too cool, and the PS3 was too expensive at that time.

In case you haven’t checked them out, Harvey Danger’s other albums after that 1996 debut are really good. Little By Little is FULL of bangers.

As a Zone I really like this “Uncover the Secret Organization” hook, it’s like something that might be harder for a new player (because the GM can lie) but also easy to jump in to (because you have a clear objective instead of a nebulous existential threat like the Stars.

Luke’s intro monologue on this one not as impactful as the others. Flame was the best, but that might be bias because it was first. But also I’m more glad to have different delivery styles than the same thing 3 times.

My name got read in the ad read so it’s the best ep1. But really: That pitcher-flower scene was great; perfect pacing as it gave the conflict and players moved to their respective actions. I’m a big fan of Bushton mayor.

Any chance you’d soon add an annual option to the tiers? I kind of prefer to just pay upfront and then not have to think about it for a year. (And I super prefer when there’s a discount for doing annual 😉)

Don’t know if this is exactly a Skill Floor thing but the KI change of not having Charge characters really worked for me. I’ve consistently had trouble with charge character timing and not having to hold Away/Down allowed me to actually play Riptor.

Likely it’s hitting a specific Venn diagram point where there’s overlap between otherwise opposed groups, so stories of communities fighting back against data centers get spread through many different channels, but for different reasons.

Perrsun @perrsun.bsky.social · 03/06/2026

I was in a small WV town (pop likely <1k) in October 2025 and they had “NO DATA CENTER” signs up on the local shops. So if we say it’s an algo-driven idea, it’s likely not brand new.

This got me thinking, what if there was a game where you could do infinites, but your opponent could press a button if they caught you repeating the same combo too many times then you’d lose. But maybe you have a button that blocks theirs… And then I realized that’s just a Combo/Counter Breaker.

E.g. This is the 1st time I know of where game consoles have gotten MORE expensive the longer they’ve been on the market, even the Fortnite devs are laying people off (among other gaming/tech layoffs), etc I absolutely fear unemployment now more than I did when I was actually unemployed in 2024.

There was also that weird twilight period where long-distance calls and cell phones both existed, so you could end up paying long-distance charges to a phone that was a few feet away.

I worked for an electronics retailer with their own credit card, and when people got to the “Annual Income” question of the sign up process and would look at ME like I had the answer… Nope. I can tell you which one of these products is better for you but not how much money you made last year.

I’m super happy they signed Hyan, which I’ll admit is bias because she was a champ of the local indie for most of this year.

Hyan, a woman wrestler wearing her entrance gear, holding a title belt in on hand as she stands on the turnbuckles cheering to the crowd.
