Next one is an oldie. It's a 1923 reprint of a book first published in 1849 by Alexander Ross entitled "Adventures of the First Settlers on the Oregon or Columbia River" - Ross was involved with John Jacob Astor and the Pacific Fur Company.

Reading 'Stories Are Weapons: Psychological Warfare and the American Mind' by Annalee Newitz - reminded me of a snapshot I took around 1989 in the Presidio.
