iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I haven't read an actual book in almost a decade. I was really surprised to find so many books on aviation mechanics, so I can study this stuff while I work on tuition money. Wow....reading books is...kinda fascinating? I really recommend checking out your library. There's a LOT of movies.

I've reached my 10 year goal of being a compounding pharmacy technician in 9 years, and I'm just thinking 'what now?' I can keep the goal and live like this for the rest of my life completely satisfied, or start a brand new goal to achieve in 10 years. ZOM100 has been a huge influence on me lately.

I have this tiny feeling that Boichi's 'The Marshal King' is actually some real distant ass sequel to Dr. Stone, where centuries of letting humanity rebuild itself, a different set of aliens kick start a dystopia that evolves humanity into a futuristic wild west. Anyone getting Trigun vibes?

It's so much colder and dreary in San Francisco, compared to the other side of the Bay. I might even take out my scarves next month! Will it be the coldest year in California this year? Hmmmm.

Not a single photo shoot this week. It was abnormally quiet this weekend, aside from usual chores. I started playing Monster Hunter and Street Fighter again. As with every game I own, there is a massive skill discrepancy with my friends, but my lack of competitiveness makes it enjoyable.

I used to draw and sell comics, but I sold almost none of them over the decade. I eventually fell into the fanart trap, but as years went by, the more I felt like a sham artist. Eventually I stopped selling at AA. Don't get me wrong, I still draw fanart, but mostly to please myself, not others

I don't know a lot of terminology, who the local big players are, etc. Everyone has to start somewhere.

I just finished Gen V, which is some spinoff(?) of The Boys. It's very gory like The Boys, but with way more drugs, genitals and sex, which made any romance in the series feel really shallow. I'm shocked it got cancelled, because it's a well written story that blends nicely with the OG series.

I find it fascinating that many actors, voice actors, cosplayers, and musicians charge for a signing or photo, but comic artists, comic writers, game developers, and illustrator almost never. They both probably charge for a print, but signing them is a totally different story. 1/2

I wrote a new article for G33k HQ! Most cons are all about TV and commercial media these days, but this one is just like the old school 90s conventions full of indie creators. And there were a LOT of published creators. More event photography/photojournalism notes: The more I'm doing this, the fewer photos I am taking. But instead of picking one out of twenty trigger happy shots, I am only picking one out of every three or four now. It makes sifting through photos WAY faster and easier.

I went to Cape and Cowl Con today. Very strange (but awesome) convention that really brought back old school comic convention spirit. Compared to pretty much every other big comic con, this one was free, parking was free, and many, many artists were promoting their own indie work. Less..commercial?

I feel like this giant, towering sunflower I grew is supposed to be some spiritual sign. The flower lost another chunk of itself to some animals overnight, and the next day it just pooped out every single seed onto the ground. That plant on the ground is an okra that likely won't get any bigger 😢
