Had a really long talk today with someone I thought was a twat but it turns out they're a decent human being and it's all just been misunderstandings and talking past each other. What a pleasant surprise ^^

SRC changed their terms of use yesterday, and released a news post with an FAQ. They make it sound like not a big deal. It's a big deal. The Creative Commons licence is gone. They claim ownership over the data now. Thread about what this means, and what we can do about it 🧵

Comparison of the old src terms and the new src terms

it's that time of the year where I replace the hobby I spend all my time thinking about with another equally addictive hobby. it's like my brain cycles between 3-4 different things perpetually btw, totally unrelated, wow Sekiro speedruns are fun ^^

starting up runs with the new blindfolded route in about an hour. wr is very doable as the new route saves 8mins over the old one. let's get the reccy twitch.tv/pennek

yoooo i found a 2 1/2min timesave for blindfolded Elden Ring and it actually makes the run less ass. I can't believe it, I thought the category was doomed to get worse over time

vacation has made me look at things with a fresh mind. have had quite a few ideas for potential timesaves/new skips I can't wait to try when I get home

Next Saturday and Sunday will be the Shine in the Dark 2024 marathon, showcasing a variety of blindfolded speedruns! I will be running The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and maybe partake in some other shenanigans. If interested in some crazy runs, check it out next week!

Some solid progress on the blindfolded route lately! We've put the finishing touches on 14 out of the 41 splits of the run. Still a lot left to go but I'm optimistic that we'll be able to start practise before the holidays kick in

It's so refreshing to see actual humans interacting here. No bots or people interaction-farming in the comments. It's probably wishful thinking but I hope this place stays clean

Oh yea... I've committed to streaming (almost) every Monday to Friday until I beat Elden Ring All Remembrances blindfolded So that's gonna be fun. Estimated run length is 5 hours of pain. By far the hardest thing I've set my mind to. Hopefully I won't burn out

Speedrunners new to bluesky: I have put together a starter pack of (actively posting) speedrunners to follow. It's by no means every speedrunner on here. If I'm missing someone/you let me know! go.bsky.app/QLeWA87
