Good morning, Europe! Following the reveal of the potentially devastating EU Kids Act, we'd like to remind you that a 1st step to combat the excessive attack on privacy and freedom is signing the political instrument of an ECI: citizens-initiative.... #StopKillingTheInternet

We just can't catch a break, can we? The EU Kids Act is nightmare fuel, if you look beneath the honorable surface claim of "protecting kids online". The breakdown: www.youtube.com/watc... #StopKillingGames #StopKillingTheInternet

I realised I'm getting close to Weekly Penguin No. 1000. It's nuts, so much so that I didn't expect this when I designed the website file architecture in 2007, using file names with "000" format. Time to rethink that one. I have a special penguin mind for that entry.

🐧🥚 Weekly #Penguin 997 Here's a unique collectible I truly treasure. This is a Penguin Pysanky. To over-simplify, think traditional Ukrainian version of Easter Eggs. The egg was custom made by late Mr. Nick Zdinak, a Pysanky artist and a long-time pen friend of my late Mom.

Penguin Pysanky by the late artist Nick Zdinak. The egg is shown from three different angles, showcasing the two penguin images and the repeating pattern band.

KEEP THE PRESSURE ON SONY! In a recent Kotaku interview NIS CEO Saruhashi says that Sony "is hearing a lot of feedback from players" and that things might not be as set in stone as parts of the industry want you to believe regarding the future of physical media.

Rockstar can spend millions on real world marketing and create a 400 $ merch box full of clutter, but releasing the actual product in a proper state is too much to ask. You have no idea how much this industry is laughing behind your backs while you still fill their pockets.

🐧 Weekly #Penguin 996 As I went to pick up the manual for the Pocket Penguin, it was stored with this here sticker sheet. I have no recollection of where it comes from and it has no markings. However, since it was stored with the virtual pet manual it is safe to assume it, too, dates to the 1990s.

An old penguin sticker sheet, very likely dating to the 1990s. It features a family of penguins - the parents and two chicks, the latter being blue and green in colour.

🐧 Weekly #Penguin 995 As a 90s kid, of course I had a Tamagotchi. And of course it was a penguin; Pocket Penguin Model B-8. Though I do still have the manual, neither it or the penguin itself has markings of the manufacturer. I do know that it is a variant / knock-off of Dinkie's Yuki Penguin.

From the 'other site', Domino's Pizza - yes, that one - just made what is possible the best 'completely off-topic but utterly Godzilla-tier burn' I have ever seen in my life on Interwebs since the 90s.

Picture of Domino's Pizza's tweet. It quotes Hideo Kojima's announcement of Sony trying to cancel his game PHYSINT and says: "PlayStation thought the game was called physical and had to back out".

Just learned of Sony trying to throw Hideo Kojima under the buss by cancelling PHYSINT. What a coincidence, this comes after Kojima being one of the biggest devs vocal about Sony's murder of physical media. Xbox picked up PHYSINT, but I guess they'll now have to fire 1000 more people to pay for it

🐧 Weekly #Penguin 994 As a guy known for his penguin collection, most of the gifts sent my way come in penguin wrappings. I don't store them all, but do keep the gift paper bags. Here's one of them. There are no brand markings or artists signatures, but who-ever made this, well done.

Weekly #Penguin 993 Here's a child-sized penguin wool hat, part of the Ciraf branded products I've featured several in the past. I can't 'model' it myself as it is way too small for me – closer to a mitten than a hat. Have to check if it fits one of the penguins 🤔

Due to Sony being dicks, I've moved to GOG ATM, going through oldies. The most surprising was the O.G. Xbox era Dredd Vs Death. The game is still simple shooting fun, but back then I wasn't aware of Big Finish. The game uses their 2000AD voice cast, inc. Toby Longworth and Nicholas 'Daleks' Briggs.

Important to distinguish 2 current stories. 1) Sony is delaying the death of physical games due to XBox going physical for Helix (rumor which we don't believe for a second). 2) Backlash/blackout cause Sony trouble from third party devs, which is confirmed through multiple sources
