Peng Liu @pengliu.bsky.social · 12/12/2025I’m exited to share the good news that I received Hertie Network of Excellence in Clinical Neuroscience fellowship! @hertieneurosci.bsky.social It will be a great step forward for me to develop into an independent researcher. And thank you Esther @estherkuehn.bsky.social for your support and help! 221
Peng Liu @pengliu.bsky.social · 01/11/2025I’m honoured to receive 2025 China Europe Outstanding Young Scientist Award. As a kid, being a ‘scientist’ always sound far away, yet now I am called a scientist on many occasions. It’s a very nice feeling, I must say. And it will surely encourage me to keep pursuing in neuroscience. 241

Peng Liu @pengliu.bsky.social · 15/10/2025This award should also be shared with my great colleague and co-first author of the paper, Juliane Doehler, for the fantastic team work and dedication that made this research possible. Looking forward to what comes next! 020
Peng Liu @pengliu.bsky.social · 15/10/2025I'm incredibly honoured and excited to share the great news, that I am awarded #Attempto-Preis 2025! 🎉🥳 This recognition is for our recently published paper, “Layer-specific changes in sensory cortex across the life span in mice and humans.” at #Nature Neuroscience. It truly is a career highlight. 172

A paper in Nature Neuroscience shows that overall thinning of the primary somatosensory cortex is driven by deep layer degeneration but that layer IV is more pronounced in old age. go.nature.com/45l9kq8 🧪 0155
