A byte into anime and manga fandom in Poland: Animegaido magazine. Launched in 1997 following some several years of the seeds of an organised fandom being planted after Polonia 1 and Polsat began broadcasting anime. Like a lot of European countries, early appreciation goes back to the 70s.

The cover of Animegaido issue 1 with its cutesy Sailor Moon themed cover. Cyberpunk, Ghost in the Shell, and Ninja Scroll are headline features.

What do you get if you cross Ghibli-esque aerial antics and sk pirate mischief with Ace Combat? You get SKY GUNNER, a game I don't hear a lot about when cool and somewhat forgotten PS2 games. Developed by Pixel Arts and published in 2002 by Atlus, this is a wonderful arcade flight sim.

Tip-top covers from a sublime UK magazine - SUPER PLAY. If I'd been a SNES (SNEZ) owner in the early 90s, I'd have gone wild for Super Play. Illustrated by Wil Overton, they all (with a few exceptions of not-so-great covers) brim with character and detail - and that's even before you dig in.
