Getting one has changed, no more captcha-walled signup from a client: 1. Go to pds.rip/accounts 2. Sign in with the handle you already have 3. Make up to 3 sub-accounts under *.dplc.rip or *.dweb.rip We've also stopped posting every creation and deletion. Live counts are on the site.

Resurrection 🧟‍♂️ (Launching v2) pds.rip is an ephemeral AT Protocol sandbox. Make an account, test the protocol, build something, then it is all destroyed seven days later. Now running atproto's spaces alpha, so you can try permissioned data here before it ships anywhere else. (🧵 1/3)
Landing page for pds.rip, a dark terminal-styled site. The header shows the wordmark at left with [STATUS] and [DASHBOARD] links at right. A large ASCII-art banner spells out "PDS.RIP" in figlet-style block characters. Below, the headline reads "An AT Protocol sandbox. Accounts are issued on request and destroyed on schedule," followed by the note that every sandbox account, repository, and blob created there is deleted 7 days after creation, and "Nothing is kept for you. No backups, no exports." Two buttons: [GET AN ACCOUNT] and a dimmed [HOW IT WORKS]. A stats row at the bottom reads: next sweep 00:02:56, live 13, expiring today 2, and destroyed 207 in orange.Screenshot of the pds.rip "Your sub-accounts" dashboard in dark monospaced styling. Intro text says each account expires on its own clock, extending buys time up to a hard ceiling of 28 days from creation, and deleting is immediate with the identity retired permanently. Stats row: slots used 2 of 3, next expiry 1d 5h left, your own account never expires.

Two account cards. tiny-guts.dweb.rip, tagged DID:WEB in green, shows did:web:tiny-guts.dweb.rip, expires in 1d 5h highlighted in amber as a warning, 7 of 28 days used, progress bar marked granted 7d against a 28d ceiling, with buttons for Extend 7 days, Reset password, Edit document, and Delete now. cute-creep.dplc.rip, tagged DID:PLC in blue, shows did:plc:wnvfcz74chtpq4vi3beam7rp, expires in 8d 3h, 14 of 28 days used and extended once, granted 14d, with Extend 7 days, Reset password, and Delete now.

What else? ⏳ Extend expiry up to 28 days 👀 New landing page and look 🚫 Removed spam scoring (too agressive before) 🐰 Cute randomly generated handles (if input left empty) Example accounts: @cute-creep.dplc.rip: did:plc:wnvfcz74chtpq4vi3beam7rp @tiny-guts.dweb.rip: did:web:tiny-guts.dweb.rip

We may have cooked with this one 😘👌🏽 Now you can log in with your account, and create up to 3 sub-accounts under your identity (anon accounts spam too much) ✅ Still free, gated behind oauth 📐 Beautiful new dashboard 📁 DID:PLC is now under dplc.rip, why? 🕸️ DID:WEB accounts supported under dweb.rip!
Screenshot of the pds.rip dashboard, a dark monospaced interface titled "Your sub-accounts." Intro text explains that each account expires on its own clock, extending buys time up to a hard ceiling of 28 days from creation, and deleting is immediate with the identity retired permanently. A stats row reads: slots used 2 of 3, next expiry 6d 23h left, your own account never expires.

Two account cards follow. tiny-guts.dweb.rip, tagged DID:WEB, expires in 6d 23h, 7 of 28 days used, with a progress bar marked granted 7d against a 28d ceiling. cute-creep.dplc.rip, tagged DID:PLC, expires in 13d 21h, 14 of 28 days used and extended once, granted 14d. Each card has "Extend 7 days" and "Delete now" buttons.

Below, a create form with a desired-handle field and a domain dropdown set to .dplc.rip, notes on how each domain resolves, a preview line reading "a name we pick.dplc.rip, did:plc, expires in 7 days," and a Create button.

Using pds.rip to test out the onboarding flow for @questionable.fyi was rather neat. Looking forward to prompt=create landing, which will make signing up all that bit nicer!

We're a public sandbox PDS for the AT Protocol network. Never worry about leaving a throwaway account behind. We're ephemeral, meaning your account, content, and data will be permanently wiped in one week. Create and account, test the protocol, build cool stuff. Keep reading to learn how (🧵 1/2)
